EZip 1000 scooter won't turn on. We have replaced batteries, controller box, and throttle but still will not work.

We have replaced all parts (batteries, throttle, controller box) and have tested the power at each source (including the fuse). When all parts are plugged into place it still will not turn on. And we also tested the motor (which still works as well)

SOURCE: will not go. ohm wiring

me tool time you checked or changed about everything but did you check the electric brake. Sounds like the brake is not working or is working intermittentaly. The controller needs to get the right reading from the brake or the scooter will not go and when you release the throttle the brake should engage immediately. I can't give you a well thats the answer but you should at least ohm out the brake. If you can call rascal Company on Monday and ask for tech support they can give you what the reading should be Hope this helps

SOURCE: My schwinn s750 elec. scooter

Yes that is quite dangerous and definitely not normal operation . It sounds like something in the throttle itself is not sensing the turn correctly. You are going to want to get the part from Schwinn directly, they will know which part, and can provide the manual to you as well. Their number is 1.706.860.8880

SOURCE: scooter is about 9 years

Please post make and model of this scooter on reply.
Without the exact model,I can only give you few general area to inspect.
===
1)Check seat belt safety switch (on high end model only) Bucket up and test it
2)Most model has a free wheeling feature to unlock the drive wheel from the motor. Check for lever(s) on the rear axle. Lock them and re-test
3)On high end model there is a speed limiter dial. Move the scooter in an open area and test for wheel movement
4)Weight sensor under seat (on high end model only)
5)Check all fuse and fuse-able link Check for burn wire(s)
======
Can you take a picture of the disconnected wires and post it? Do they look factory install or DIY'er installation.

Check for any connector(s) under the scooter housing column hosing (above the loose wire)

Can it be aux wire for lights? (Installed by last owner)

What gauge is it and how many?
It can be a kill switch to a relay (install be last owner)
Is there any sign of missing tubular SPST key switch?

I can go on and on......please take a quick look for any kind of kill switch,relay,alarm or aftermarket modification on the scooter.

EZip e-900 Electric Scooter. I have replaced batteries, Throttle, Control box, and motor and it still won't go.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Cars and Trucks category.

The batteries, and throttle control could have been tested with multimeter. The motor can be checked with a multimeter and also with a power source (12 volt x 2 in series = 24 volts) or even with the battery pack that is on it. The only part that is difficult to troubleshoot is the Control Box and circuitry, but if the battery is okay for volts, the throttle passes power and the motor runs, it has to be the control box or connection wiring throughout.

How do I fix my ezip 450 electric scooter

Your battery may have gone bad. It may have enough juice to turn on the lights but not enough to run the motor. Try connecting the battery directly to the motor terminals. If it runs ok them you may have a bad speed controller.

Where is fuse located on ezip 1000

There is a fuse in front of the battery area that is covered by a metal cover plate. There are two screws on the top of the L-shaped cover which might be hard to unscrew. Exercise patience, use penetrating fluid(s), & try not to de-form the screw head. Otherwise, you shall probably have to cut them off to get the plate off & work the screws out with pliers.

How to change out a throttle

I narrowed my problem down to the throttle after checking the controller, battery and charger and it didnt look easy to remove the throttle so I thought what if its just dirty contacts? So I grabbed my bottle of rubbing alcohol tilted the scooter and poured it into the throttle while twisting it. NOTE: turn switch off !! Flammable liquid!! so i twisted back and forth about 20 times to clean contacts and left to let the alcohol evaporate . Went back in an hour and it worked!! That fixed it!

Ezip 500 won't run : new batteries fully charged but it still shows low battery light...what else could be wrong

i'm having the same problem. checked fuses and both are good. going through the wiring harness to look for shorts. have a bad feeling the micro controller died, that is the little plastic box with metal fins on it under the seat post behind the batteries ******* to the frame. i can bypass the micro-controller and connect one 12 volt battery directly to motor and runs full speed. somehow it is wired with 2 - 12 volt batteries in series to give 24 volts and them the processor cuts back down to 12 volts to run the motor. not sure why this is engineered this way? still working the problem. what sucks so far is that the micro controller is encased in resin so it is virtually non repairable.
* Update added.
Found these wiring harness for sale online scooter stores and on ebay. I replaced mine with some intermediate level adapting the harness to my model scooter and this includes some soldering and wire splicing changing power connector heads off old harnedd to new harness to fit bike. Works great.
