Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

I bought a secondhand Miele 2830 LaPerla dishwasher. I hooked it up today. As soon as I pressed the start button, i heard the pump anf it gave me an F68 error and water leaked out of the bottom in such a way that I could not see where it was coming from. I know f68 means the circulation pump is running when it isn't supposed to. Since I heard the pump, I imagine that is working. So any advice on how to fix this?

The hoses may not be connected properly or are cracked. This is causing leakage inside dishwasher and the flood switch to operate. The dishwasher starts the pump to empty the dishwasher and avoid damage of water flooding the electric parts.

You will need to find the source of the leakage and fix it. Such leaks are very common with second hand dishwashers. Would be better to go back to the seller and ask questions.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

If you have already cleaned the drain filter pump assembly located inside the bottom access panel completely and you are sure that it is not overflowing due to a bad float switch assembly located inside the bottom panel next to the pump then yes the recommended repair will be replacing the drain pump assembly. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

SOURCE: Miele dishwasher doesn't work.error F70

When this problem happened to our machine, it was simply the pipes under the sink where the dishwasher drain pipe fits were blocked with muck. This was preventing the one way valve connecting the drain hose to the household waste from fully opening thus preventing the machine complete its drain cycle.
Solution was to thoroughly clean the sink drain pipes - plunger, power plunger and then a dose of chemical cleaner. Dishwasher is as right as rain now:)

Can I purchase a new door for my Miele LaPerla dishwasher. The current door has 2 dents.

You certainly can replace them, one would require the model number La Perla G28XX (eg) as it also comes in assorted colours, downside is that its mostly only available from Miele or an agent.

Miele LaPerla Dishwasher showed fault code F174 at 27 hours operation. How can I get a copy of the Miele fault codes? I pay for Remote Monitor and did not receive an alert. What is fault code F174?

Hi - I have not come across a fault code F147 on a miele dishwasher, the highest being F112, are you sure its not F47 instead, this relates to a faulty electronic controller unit.

From what I know of LaPerla the model G2830 series and even the faults does not have a F147 amongst the chart.

After pressing start programme light goes off and it 'bleeps' all the time

I had a somewhat similar problem on my Miele G896SCI dishwasher. Here was the fix that worked, provided by phone by Miele.

1. Turn on at On/Off button. 2. Press and hold Start/Stop button until the red light blinks. 3. Press On/Off button to Off, then back On.

That reset the machine and it returned to normal operation for years

What does F24 mean on my Miele dishwasher readout?

f24 is no signal from the heater relay. at the start of a cycle the dishwasher runs the drain pump for 30 seconds. it will, at the same time send a power signal to the heater relay. if the computer doesnt see a signal back from the relay, it will stop the cycle and beep. Sometimes this happens almost as soon as you press the start button. Sometimes the relays are just bad, but it is usually caused by a voltage spike, or by using too much detergent. the excess detergent will oversuds the machine, and leak into the bottom pan. the soap will corrode the contacts on the relay and cause the f24 fault. the relay can be accessed by removing the bottom pan of the dishwasher with 4 t20 screws. it requires that the dishwasher be turned on its side.

I have a Miele G841 SC Plus Novotronic Dishwasher. The Intake/Drain light is blinking and it won't work. What do I do?

I had a problem where my G842Plus dishwasher would run through the prewash and then the intake/drain light would start blinking and it wouldn't work. There would be water in the bottom of the dishwasher. After cleaning out various items to no avail, we called Miele technical support and they told us to reset the codes and then keep trying it over and over until it worked.
Here is how we reset the codes:
  • Turn dial to stop/off
  • Turn dial to Normal Plus
  • Press Start
  • Press power
  • Then press the start button for one second and let go

Miele G841 Built in. Intake/Drain light on/flashing and the dishwasher just shuts down.

In the user manual there's a section on how to clean the non-return valve. It's the plastic piece under the wire below the triple filter. Why did you pull out the machine? Did you kink the drain hose? If you don't find a clogged valve, spin the impeller wheel several times. It's under the valve inside the bottom hole where the valve came out.
Now here's the important step- Reset the fault! Power off/on the unit. If the light blinks when you turn it on, Press and hold the start button 4 seconds with the door open. Find the combination of off/on buttons to press to reset the machine in the user manual.
(Note: If the machine runs continuously as soon as you pressed on the power button, then you have water under the unit in the safety pan. Call Miele for help.) Now select the normal wash cycle close the door and start it. The drain motor always runs first. This verifies to the brain how much water is inside the machine when it starts filling. The drain pump runs for half a minute. If you hear it running with no drain check the drain hose especially if it's connected to a disposal. Clean the disposal.. If it's not running at all the light will go on again before filling, call Miele. If the machine fill up with fresh water, the drain works. Watch and listen when the light comes on. Is it filling or did it start circulating? Open the door, are the baskets are dripping wet? Then it filled and circulated. If the light comes on several miutes later then call Miele.

Miele G646SC Plus dishwasher Drainage / inlet warning light

I had the same problem a few days ago. I followed the instructions to clean the filter and check to see that the impeller was free to rotate in both directions. The problem persisted. After reading this thread, and a similar one on another site, I tried what mikeboerma suggested in "solution #3", and bingo, problem solved. The magic combination is to push and hold the on/off button and the start/stop button.
