Question about HP LaserJet 1012 Printer
I just replaced the toner cartridge, and now the paper stops about 1/3 of the way through like it's jammed. I pulled out the paper, removed/replaced the cartridge, and it does the same thing.
The drum shutter may have become slightly dislodged. That is the cover on the bottom of the cartridge that swings open when installed. It should swing freely and fully cover the drum when closed. Does it seem OK (compared to the other cartrifge)?
Is it a remanufactured unit? I've seen it happen on them sometimes. There's no easy way to fix it other than getting a replacement. Outside of that I don't know what the problem may be. does the printer work ok with the old unit? If so, I'd just return the defective cartridge.
