Make sure you are connecting the monitor signal lead to the correct signal output on the rear of the machine. Some desktops have extra video out connectors when they have a graphics card fitted. If yours has a graphics card the display connector will be away from the back USB ,audio and keyboard ports and near to some silver pop out panels near the bottom of the tower.

There is only one place to connect monitor, I think it is call VGA or something. If I unplug fron new PC, then move connector to old PC, move line in over to old PC it all works. Redo it on new one.....nothing

There is a different type of display connector called DVI Click this link for a picture. If your tower has one of these and your monitor doesn't, don't worry you can get an adaptor. If this isn't he problem and you bought it from a shop, then take it back.

shut your computer down for 1 minutes with the power unplugged, and try it again.

depending on if your savvy with computers or not depends on how indepth you want to be.
You need to determine if your video card has gone bad or not. try to remove everything attached to your motherboard, memory, hard drives, any cables, and see if your screen turns on. Take out any network cards, video cards, modems etc, that is inside your comptuer. So you need to have your motherboard, cpu and fan+ power supply connected, and try to turn it on. If the screen comes up,l something you removed is bad. If it does not, and your computer is running, bad video card.

Most computers today come with an integrated video card, meaning everything is 1 piece. You might be able to bypass your motherboards video card port, by installing a separate card. You can get these at any computer store.

Hope this helps!

No signal message on your LCD monitor screen means that your monitor is not receiving any signal from your PC graphic card. This problem "no signal" have nothing to do with the drivers installations. Have you check whether your graphic card is faulty or your cable connection properly connected/secured? ie VGA (D-sub). As far as I know there are no parallel connectors for PC Monitor connectors only, VGA(D-sub), DVI or HDMI cable interface.

Try to connect your monitor to another PC, just to test whether the LCD monitor is functional.

Hope it helps.

Hello there,

Step 1:

Check all connections make sure everything is connected correctly .

The monitor should have two cords one for power and one VGA to the PC make sure both are connected correctly.

Step 2:

check the input on the Monitor make sure you are on the correct input for the type of Cord you are using.

Step 3:

If you are still not able to get a Picture try using the Monitor on a different PC it may be a bad Monitor, if you move the monitor to a different PC and it works then its the Graphics Card in that PC that is not working .

if you move the monitor to a different PC and it doesn't work then its the Monitor.

It was working fine yesterday. Today is states VGA no signal. What is the problem.

A number of things can cause "No Signal" on a monitor

1) Check the cable between the monitor and PC is properly connected
2) If the PC has more than one display port try changing the display port the monitor is plugged into
3) Try an alternative cable between the monitor and the PC
4) Check that the correct input is selected on the monitor

Viewsonic vx2835wm monitor, in DVI mode connection, altough getting signal from the PC(Other monitor connected and tested for graphic card problem-No graphics card problem!!) , Prompts "No input-signal"...

You will need to change the resolution of the screen on the computer to 800-600 and the bit to 24bits or 16bits, to do this right click on the windows screen, and click properties, goto settings.
You should see a slider at the bottem left of the screen to adjust the resolution, and a drop down bar on the other side for the bit rate. This should solve the problem, also you could open the scond screen also in the display properties, and drag what you need to see on the screen to that screen, you will know what i mean when you open screen 2 it just expands the desktop. hope this helps.

Screen comes on says Acer then No Signal, and goes out. if shut power off and then back on get same result.

This means the monitor believes it's not connected to the computer. Verify the cables first of all. Then try booting in safe mode (F8 key at PC startup) in order to verify that the PC is sending data to the proper video port (you might have a dual VGA / Digital output, for example, and the monitor might be connected to the wrong PC port). Quite often, a "bad signal" will be the same of "no signal"; and you can have a bad signal if the monitor resolution on the PC is set too high. This could happen if you installed a high-resolution capable monitor, and then replaced it with a not-completely-plug-and-play, lower resolution one. The PC would keep sending hi-res signals to a monitor which can neither interpret them, nor tell the PC "please slow down". To check this last possibility, reboot your computer while the monitor is ON. When PCs reboot, they usually drop back to standard VGA signaling, which all monitors understand. If the monitor abruptly comes to life and displays a boot screen, then goes No Signal again after several seconds, you've got a resolution issue; get in Safe Mode with F8 key at boot, and modify the screen properties (right-mouse button on the desktop, then Properties).

If everything else fails, try also connecting the monitor to another PC or laptop, to see if it works there.
