Question about Garden
Gas trimmer bought at yard sale for $5...tickets says runs fine but needs throttle cable. Can't seem to find any info on this product that is conclusive on the right model replacement. Any help?

You need to disassemble the case to get to the fuel tank. Pull out the plug fitting and replace the internals with new factory grade parts.

There are 4 different IPLs for this saw. Fuel detail are on multiple illustrations.
A helpful video, a few of my suggestions, and a schematic follow:

One cause to look in too is a leaking seal around the crank, this is causing a vacuum leak.
Hope this tip helps.

Here's some basics.. a typical gas oil mix is 40:1 to 50:1... in that range you'll be fine. Also clean the air filter, check the fuel filter and clean and/or replace the spark plug. If the gas has been in it for a while... clean it out...It may run fine for a bit,but it will most likely be harder to start, and eventually gum up the carb and lines and foul the spark plug.
so if you got those things cleaned and serviced.. you should be pretty good to go..
1. close the choke and prime with the prime bulb if it's got one, then pull it thru a couple of times until you hear it try to unsuccessfully start.
2. Set the choke 1/2 way and pull it again, it should start and once it builds up a bit of pressure in the gas tank, you can set the choke to off and you're up and runnin'.
I couldn't find any model info for you, but a local saw/lawnmower shop should be able to dial in parts for you.
