SOURCE: Husqvarna Mdl YTH2448 Riding Mower - Electric PTO Not Working

It sounds like your charge system is not working. If you jump the battery the engine will run with a weak battery but the pto clutch needs a strong battery to stay engaged.Try this to test it,after you jump it leav the jumper cables hooked up and try to engage the blade clutch,if it runs it is either a battery that wont take a charge or a charge system not working. If you put a volt meter on the battery while the engine is running and the voltage is 13 volts the charge system is working and the battery is bad.

SOURCE: 2007 Husqvarna Riding mower blade will not engage

Sounds like you electric blade clutch is bad. I just had the same thing happen to my exmark mower. I was cutting grass and the engine just shut down. It would not crank over. Checked the fuses and replaced one blown fuse. The engine wanted to crank over but it was locked up. I looked the engine over and seen that the bearing in the electric clutch seized up causing the clutch to melt.

Check the fuel tank cap. It needs to let air into the tank and has a small hole to enable this. Try running the engine with the cap loosely in place to verify this is the cause. If you can't clean it get a new one.

What type of oil do you use in a Husqvarna YTH1542XP trans-axle ... and , how much ?

Hello,
For the trans-axle use 2 quarts and use 10w-30 any brand that you would like, be careful when unscrewing the cap you do not want hot oil over you.
Thanks.

Yth1542xp take the deck off to clean

See page 19 and a very good diagram for this procedure in Figure 16 to do this. This is your owners manual. You will need Adobe Reader installed on your computer to view it. It is a free download if you don't already have it.

Husky yth1542xp. I've changed the blades, leveled

When levelling the deck, rotate the blades so that the right blade has one of its cutting edges at or near the right side center of the deck. Do the opposite with the left. Measure to the blades from the level ground, not to the deck. Try leveling that way.

The mower starts but the blade switch won't conect yth1542xp

Husqvarna uses an electronic clutch to engage the mower deck. When the clutch works itself out of adjustment it will quit working. Sometimes it will blow the 20 fuse and the tractor will continue to run, but the blade won't engage. When you then shut off the tractor it won't crank again until you replace the fuse. When you attempt to engage the blades again, the fuse will blow again.

Follow this link for a detailed description of the adjustment process:

It sounds like the hydro static drive in the rear of the mower is over heating. Remove the battery and carrier tray under the battery and check that the cooling fan and hydro static drive are free of grass etc. Regards Phil

I have a Husqvarna Lawn Mower YTH1542XP. when it is in gear to move, i have to use my foot to hold the pedal back for it to go. if i don't hold the pedal back, it barely moves. any suggestions are...

It sounds like the transmission drive belt is slipping. When you pull the pedal back you are increasing the tension on the belt. You may also want to make sure the spring that pulls tension on the idler pulley is in tact. Hope this gets you in the right direction.

Blowing fuses

try unplugging the pto, starting the mower and then engaging the blades. If it still blows a fuse the problem lies in the mowers wiring. If not the problem is the pto. Hope this helps
