You need to connect an audio cable from the headphone socket on the laptop to the audio input on the TV.

SOURCE: Laptop to Tv

to make this work, we'll need all the model numbers and connector types. Otherwise, it's a guessing game, no?

SOURCE: connecting laptop to tv

1. If your tv has a PC input, use a vga cable, from any normal computer monitor.

2. If you use those HD connectors, match them to the correct colour coded inputs on the tv.

In each case, do all the connecting with the computer POWERED OFF. Then when connected, boot the computer, and allow Windows to auto-detect the 'new monitor', as it will 'see' it.

Then you shoud right click on your desktop, choose properties, and goto 'settings'. From there you will see monitors 1 and 2. click on the new monitor and 'enable' it.

You also have the option of 'extending' windows to the second monitor, as well as making this your 'default monitor'. Experiment to see what best suits your needs,

Erik.

SOURCE: NO SOUND;NOT ABLE TO COPY ON TO DVDS USING S-VIDEO SOCKET

This is a generic issue with all Windows OS updates....many of the users are facing this issue....this issue began after an auto update from MS changed many IRQs of Win OS, mainly the Sound and Audio Control system of Windows.
1 - R U facing NO Audio / No Sound issue...?
2 - Is ur Volume Control not responding ?
3 - Is ur Sound and Audio Device in Control Panel Grayed out ?
4 - Do u get a msg "No Active Mixer Devices Installed....when u try to open Volume Ctrl etc etc ?

If ur ans to any one of them is Yes...then u are being spammed by Microsoft....as ur Sound Control IRQ is being frozen by a recent update from Microsoft....

NOTE..THIS…IS…VERY..IMPORTANT...
No file update or any sound driver update can fix it, neither Microsoft is issuing any patch to fix it…or giving any help on this.
Full solution is available in my website (Support page)...it's quite simple process to fix it, and I am not charging any money, just doing FREE service to help everyone affected by this stupidity from Microsoft.
www.sureshayyar.110mb.com
visit my Support Page.

many of us are victim of this “stupid” update, my office has 24 PC/Notebooks and almost all of them got this issue one by one in 4 months time period, I head the tech dept here.
all the best...
Kindly leave a feedback/rating to this solution as it will help me understand if my solution worked

SOURCE: No audio output to tv on my dell 1545

That, & most, earphone sockets, simply doesn't have enough "Current" or signal voltage to drive your TV set's audio in Amplifier. You need to get a Pre-Amp, to amplify the signal, up to a level that can be used by the TV. So you need to purchase, or build from a kit, a small stereo pre-amp and insert it between your laptop & TV audio In.

I am having picture problems with my n 64 connected to a Panasonic viera. The picture is black and white and very grainy if anyone can help I would be very grateful thanks

If there is no yellow socket (terminal) on the TV, as in most recent year's VIERAs:

Connect the Yellow male plug from your gaming device into the TV's GREEN female socket (terminal).

Press INPUT on the Panasonic TV remote and select the Video input. In some VIERA models, you need to press INPUT, go down and select the Comp. option and then press >right to select Video.

To get audio (sound), make sure to connect the Red and White plugs from the gaming device into the TV's Red and White sockets (terminals) that are labeled AUDIO.

Tv output where is it located

look at the pictures on your Dell 510 there should be 1 that looks like one of these. It is an s video port, your tv should have an s video input so you need an s video to s video cable. If not the check the inputs available on your tv and get an s video cable to fit your dell output and that will fit one of the available inputs on your tv.

S-Video Connecting Laptop and PC

The best way is via the VGA connector on the computer and by connecting the Audio out on the back of the computer to the RCA sockets on your TV. You will need a 3.5 mm jack to stereo RCA cable for the audio.

My dell 510 only show DELL on tv nothing else from my laptop

What Operating System and version are you using (i.e. Windows XP, Windows 7, etc)?

If Windows, you will ultimately have to go to Control Panel > Display > and choose to extend your laptop screen to the connected device. These options are in slightly different places across different OS versions so it may take some digging around to locate the option to extend display.

Why does the s video output on my dell latitude d600 not work?

You must have the correct drivers installed, and you must enable the output as a second monitor but to do that you must connect to the TV IN first. Right, well, IF your TV has a DB15 Female Plug on it then you CAN, connect it up and it will work, as a second "Monitor". OR If the laptop, has a "Composite Video" a Yellow RCA socket, then you can, connect to the TV's Composite IN. & it will be a second monitor. Otherwise you cannot, the VGA signal is NOT compatible with a TV's input. SOME cards have a connector that plugs into the DB15 and to the TV, but they are "Special". In saying that though you can "Micky Mouse" things together and get an output, but it real poor quality, and disappointing results, there are various posts on the net about doing this if you wish.
Remember DRIVERS, you also need the drivers installed & setup correctly in order for the hardware to work. As a tip, When connecting to a TV, always connect like this......First, plug all cables into TV's correct Video input(s). Connect up the Sound, plug all cables into laptop, turn TV ON. NOW, start the laptop, you should now soon see the an image.
NOTE: Some laptops & other devices, have HDMI out, sometimes, the AUDIO is not passed through, the HDMI cable, & the Audio must be run from Audio/Line OUT on laptop to AV IN on TV.Also some laptops have a socket that a multi-way 4/5/6/7 pins. A connector plugs into this, you then can connect to these connections, as you would normally.
