I have a p28 pioneer, hasnot been used in a few years. I put a new carburator kit in it, now it's over fueling. Gas is coming out of exaust. won't start. It does fire though.

You need to do a pressure test on the carb, this will tell you if the inlet needle is leaking, it is also important that the metering lever onto the needle is not set too high, on the metering side of the carb the gasket goes against the carb body first to act as a spacer to the metering diaphram.

Chain will run if you pour gas into carb but willnot otherwise a mcCulloch 160s

Could be the fuel line is rotted off in the tank only letting it pull in air. The other thing if this is ok would be the carburator needs a kit put in it. The diaphrams go bad in the carburator. Please rate my answer so I am rewarded points for it.

How do you set the carburator back to factory specs. mine wont keep running

Basic settings can vary from model to model, a good starting point for most carbs is screw both H and L screw right in ,then back the H screw out 1 turn and the L screw 1 and1/4 turns, the machine should run well enough to fine adjust from there, they are both fuel screws, so the more you unscrew them the richer the saw becomes, always remember if there in another under lying problem adjusting the carb screws will not always help, before any adjustment clean or replace the fuel filter in the fuel tank.

I need a routing of the fuel lines from filter to, primer-in, primer-out, to carburator, out of carburator, back to tank. this is on a poulan chainsaw, 2550. Mod 952-05138. please respond.MARRY CHRISTMAS.

There are two holes in the fuel tank, it does not matter which line goes to which hole. The lines should run as follows: One line from the tank should have a filter on it, connect this line to the primer bulb and put a mark on it with a sharpie. Another line should run from the bulb to the carb, and the last should run from the carb back into the tank. After they are all in place, pump the bulb and watch the gas in the marked line. If gas is flowing from the tank through the marked line into the bulb and on to the carb you are done. If gas is flowing towards the tank in the marked line or not at all reverse the two lines on the bulb and you're done.

Husqvarna 137 Chain won't stop when idleing. I turned the T screw down just enough to keep it running chain keeps on going. Could it be the clutch?

your carburator is gummed up. Get some carb. cleaner additive for your fuel, run a couple of tanks of treated fuel through the saw and it will be ok.

I have a McCulloch 3516 chainsaw and need advice on how to adjust the carburator. It starts but runs for a short time and dies.

You say runs a short time, seconds or minutes ? Seconds could be carb setting, minutes could be fuel mix ratio. let me know.

14" Ryobi petrol chainsaw will only run for 10 seconds

You are on the right track. Keep priming which indicates the fuel mixture is too lean to run. In other words the fuel line is partially clogged up. A drop of water on the gas tank would cause this problem. The fuel is fed on the suction basis. So clean up the fuel tank, (disassembly the carburator) reservoir, needle, float, offrice and fuel filter. A can of carburator cleaner (spray one) is a big help.

Old homelite chainsaw, wont pull fuel

most of the time there is a air leak in one of the two crank shaft seals.to get to them you need to pull off the flywheel and the clutch assy.look for wet areas. that will be where the seal is letting out the oil and air.If you keep putting starting fluid in the carburator you will burn the rings, the piston and the cylinder up

The small ports and passages within the carburator is blocked, the carb must be disassembled and cleaned and possibly replaced ..
