Try doing both at the same time - leave it off at least 60 seconds. Also while you have the cover off look fo any buttons (reset). If this does not work you will have to replace the thermostat. (Be sure the power is off to th furnace B4 changing the tstat)

Hi my vulcan gas hot water service isn't getting hot enough anymore? please help me?

check first if you have good water flow to and from heater. lift pressure release valve on inlet and allow few sec to flow, same with outlet hot water safety valve.

remove front cover from the heater, you should see your gas connection and thermostat knob.

check if gas is burning evenly and on whole surface, check for leaks on the heater and on the lines to and from the heater.

if you did not find any faults, no leaks, safety valves work correctly, check thermostats settings,

wind it down to minimal, then turn it to about 1/4 value (you did not specify model but this should do, widening arrow or numerical values ar self explanatory), lift hot water safety valve for few seconds, then open any hot water tap (faucet if you are an american...) and check if gas ignites and burns.

set thermostat to about 2/3 value and again, lift hot water safety valve for few seconds, then open any hot water tap. check if gas ignites and if water is sufficiently hot, if too hot - wind it down to say 1/2 way, if too cold, wind it till resistant and then back off a bit, DO NOT EVER LEAVE VALVE OR THERMOSTAT ON MAX!.

if none of these help - you need either, change the thermostat or heater itself.

if works - you solved the problem, close the tap, close the cover and use the system as you normally do.

i am always recommending use of insulation on the hot water system, it saves heaps of money over the life of the system.

hope this will help you - do not forget to vote... :-)

How do I deleate the change filter light?

My model is the psp511lca but it may be the same type of reset. I have a dial I turn to the "change filter" option and then press the up and down temperature buttons simultaneously and hold for a few seconds. When you turn the dial back to "run" the change filter light on the display is gone.

How do i reset my honeywell thermostat

Remove thermostat from wall, leaving base plate on wall.
Model number appears on back of device.
Google search thermostat model in following format: Honeywell xxxx32 thermostat .pdf
Adding .pdf to search parameter will yield product manual.
Also while thermostat is off the wall, change batteries located in compartment on back of thermostat. These batteries must be changed periodically, for example each 3-4 years.

Pilot light lights and stays lit until you turn the temp up. Burner ignites for a few seconds and then everything goes out and you have to wait about an hour to relight it

Sounds like this is the gas regulator giving the the problems, i would call a local plumber to service this . gas and flame is very dangerous.

Water heater needs a jump-start every morning

Hi,
Did they change the thermocaouple or the gas valve/thermostat???
My gues is that they changed the thermocouple and NOT the gas valve which also has the thermostat in it.

The gas valve is the problem... make them change that or give you a new hot water heater.

Alpha boiler - wireless programmer failing

it sounds like the problem may be in the boiler and not the controller itself. Do you kno which is are the two wores that are the r-w for the thermostat take and purt them together and see if the boiler stays on or shuts off like it does with the thermostat. If it does then replace the reciever. If it doesn't then you have another problem. Good Luck
