Question about Hitachi 43UWX10B 43" Rear Projection Television
Had no problems with this TV, always had a great picture! One evening we turned it on and it was out of focus. We hadn't made any changes to the TV. It hasn't been moved, no changes. We tried the MAGIC FOCUS button, didn't help. We would like to fix this ourselves.
I have the same problem. I had the amplifiers and resistors replaced. Worked ok for about 2 days and went bad again. Repairman said I needed that whole assembly replaced. He tried to find one and couldn't. Any ideas to try
What you can do it get a broken TV (screen broken??) of same model from ebay and salvage the parts.
That might work out cheaper.

Your TV has lost convergence, and as the convergence setting and autofocus do not help in fixing the problem, that means that one of the convergence ICs had blown.
You need to have the convergence ICs replaced, the job can cost $200/$300 at a local repair shop.
Below is explained how to do this kind of repair:

Try adjusting the picture yourself by entering the service mode, you can do that by---
1. TV turned off 2. Press 'Power' and 'Input' buttons on the TV for more than 3 seconds.. You are now in the Adjustment mode
The letter P indicates picture and A indicates audio.
4. Use the 'Menu up or down' on the remote to select the item. 5. Write down the old value of the item before changing. 6. Use the 'Menu left or right' to change the data.
Please ask for any clarifications.
Please accept the solution if it helps.
