Check the power steering fluid level and add fluid if it is low. Check to see if the steering rack is leaking. You can check it by removing the tie rod boots to see if fluid comes out. Make sure the belt is tight. If the pump works and no leaks, you may need steering rack replacement. If you do need to replace your Steering Rack, this site looks like it has cheap prices, free shipping and great reviews

Bought a barrecrafter car rack off craisglist...i bought it with no keys because the ownr lost them...i need a replacement

look and see if there are any letters and numbers scribed on the face of the lock cylinder, this is the key code-- with this code you should be able to go to your local locksmith and they will be able to cut you a ' key by code ' and it will work. if there is no code on the lock then you can also just take the rack to the lockshop and they will be able to pick and remove the cylinder from the lock and fit a key to it by hand. normal shop rates for making a key in this fasion is about $12-$15 dollars and if you want more than one key - duplicate keys cost about $1.75 to $ 2.50.
(( even if the lock does have numbers on it -- take the rack to the shop with you to make sure the key that they cut by code works before you leave the shop,,, saving you a second trip ))

Its not a problem to begin? I just want to buy 1 rack like for a SATA III 6 gbps Hard Drive. Will it affect the Hard Drive Speed, reducing it to 3gbps? Or is it just a Rack to support the Hard Drive...

As long as the connector and build quality is good, a rack should work fine.
If the connectors are shoddy, or the fit of the connectors isn't good, then you will have speed issues, or even outright failures.

Note that you need to have MS370 rack Kit to be able to successfully do the conversion.

89 Bronco, ignition spins freely, replaced ignition key lock with no results

It sounds like the rack is broken inside the column. The gears would bind from old, hard grease and cause the already thin pot metal rack to break. The steering wheel and the upper column has to come apart to replace the rack, brass gear and the actuator/gear.

Steers hard to the left normal to the right

Hello vdc442: My name is Roger and I will answer your question. The steering rack is most likely your problem. The rack has seals inside of it. They start to leak internally and this causes the hard steer to one side. To repair the rack and pinion takes special equipment. The easiest way to repair is to replace the rack. This also takes special equipment in that the car will need realignment when done. Also this is a messy job.The changing of the rack can be difficult. But if you are mechanically inclined you should be able to do this. Make sure to chalk the tires and be sure to use Jack stands to support the car while working under the car.
Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the quality of the answer you received. THis way we know your answer helped. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger
