See if there is a plastic connector on the wires leading to the seat switch. If there is try disconnecting it and use a piece of wire (with insulation on it) to use a jumper. There is probably two wires coming from the tractor to the seat. After disconnecting Place one end of wire into the wire connector coming tractor and the other end of wire in the same connector on the other side. That will act like the seat switch is closed like you are setting on it. Try and start. Had the same problem on an electric hyster at work and that was the fix we used because the switch is pretty expensive and a hassle to change.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: I have a john deere sabre 15.5/42 and cant figure

Remember to always put the V side of belt (inside of belt) into the pulleys and put the flat side of belt (outside of belt) up against the idler pulley (the one that moves to make belt tight to engage blades) Make sure you have the right belt and follow those guidelines and the belt should go right on. If you happen to have alot of slack then you have to figure out a different routing around the idler. Make sure the blades are NOT engaged. When on properly the belt will be snug.

Let me know if this helps.

John Deere sabre runs for a while then sputters to a halt. Won't restart until it cools down

check coil , ignition control module
This is an indication of component over heating and breaking down.
splutters as the circuit becomes unstable and eventual failure and refusal to start until cool

When I turn my john deere sabre off at the key the engine shuts down, however ten seconds later the fuse blows. Also brand new safety switches are killing engine when released. Suggestions?

Somewhere, probably in the ignition switch circuit there is a short circuit - otherwise the fuse would not blow. You'll need to take a test meter to each circuit in turn to isolate the circuit and then find the short. Be logical and patient!
