How to open the slave speaker on a bx1221

Some speakers are sealed permanently with no access to the unit inside. If the front Grill wont come off and there are no screws to remove attachments and parts; you have a sealed unit and you can not open it.

The ring tone wont work..it seems to be on mute

hi,

try to check maybe your phone is in mute mode.

if it is not in mute mode then most likely it has a defective speaker or sometimes loose connection to the speakers. What only you can do is to check its connection inside if you can open your phone. but try only opening your phone if you know what you are doing and open it cautiously since sensitive parts are inside, you might worsten its problem. you can locate the speaker inside, it is like a small speaker and check if it has abnormalities. other than that, don't touch anything else.

(if you have a multi-tester, you can check the speaker itself by placing the red and black probe to each terminals of the speaker and if you hear a scratching sound on the speaker then your speaker is good. if none, then an open defective speaker.)

(WARNING: only open your unit if there is no more warranty on your phone cause opening it can cause your warranty to be void)

dont forget to rate me. Thanks...

How do you open the speakers? I need to change

You can open the front grill by sliding out from one corner. Once the grill is removed, open the speaker by unscrewing four screws using a philips star screwdriver. Once opened, you can spot the pot (brown circular device). mostly it requires only cleaning. You can use a syringe to pour some Isopropyl alchohol to one small opening at the side of the pot. make sure the power is disconnected before you try this. _397.jpg_396.jpg

I want to open my speakers

usually they have a clamping mechanism... try sliding the cover one way or another, or try forcing it open (careful not to force to hard), also, do check again for any screws you might have forgot.

Speaker for right ear does not work

Open the right headset speaker. You will find two points where the wires are soldered. desolder any one wire from the speaker. Now take the multimeter and set it for measuring Resistance (Ohms) touch the prods of the Multimeter to the two points on the speaker, if it reads 8, 16 or 24 Ohms then your speaker is ok If it reads very high resistance or open circuit then speaker is bad. If speaker is ok then the two wires soldered on speaker are open or short.replace either one.

Opening the speaker

i had to break it to get the satellite speaker open. once it was open, i looked to see if there was a simpler way i could have do it. much to my suprise- no, there wasn't. it seems the plastic is melted together. what i did to open it was use a fairly sharp flathead screwdriver and a hammer. it took me about an hour. ironically, my speaker looks like garbage now, but plays great (as opposed to it looking decenct and not playing, thus making it actually garbage).

How to open the case of the speakers?

since u hav removed the mesh and the 4 screws that hold the case of the speaker .As you said that the speaker has no opening points , most companies manufacture the speaker by sandwiching two parts together. In order to open the case of the speaker , you will have to see for a joint line on the edges . it indicates the attachment between the two parts of the speaker . If you find an opening at the back of the speaker as you have mentioned , try to remove the two joints of the speaker by pulling gently at the opposite ends .
