SOURCE: which brand chainsaws have manual oil pump

None use a manual oil pump anymore. Automatic oiling is the way to go.

08s stihl chainsaw not oiling chain. No blockages in oil tank to blade and I do not see any adjustment for oil flow-it looks like the pump but both gear wheels of pump look ok and are turning.

hows the little hose inside oil tank ? or is it maybe missing ?? if so it will only pump oil if tank is completly full to top , then stops as tank works its way down , a can of that keyboard cleaner (air nozzle) goes miles to blowing out little oil passages with sawdust jammed in there !!

Wher is fuell pump on spear jackson chainsaw

There is no fuel pump it is gravity feed.Make sure gas oil mix is right, check oil tank level, and check filter.if all are ok then you need to adjust the idler and fuel mix screw.

Why 064 stihl chainsaw quit oiling ?

Strip and clean the saw wash oil tank with some petrol LET it dry if you have run the saw with no oil or no oil pumping the pump can overheat that can be the end of it a work shop strip refit and next time watch the oil if it stops so do you clean saw often hope this helps

I was wondering if there is anything I can do about the oil leaking. I have a hitachi cs33eb it is brand new.

The oil pipe is poorly fitted to the oil pump and allows bar/chain oil to sneak past the seal. Buying a new oil pipe may not fix the issue since this is common on brand-new saws. Warranty work probably won't help you.

How I fixed my saw: I bought two small O-rings about the diameter of the oil pump and fitted them to act as hose clamps around the oil pipe. See attached picture. It worked perfectly and now my saw runs out of fuel before oil. Sears/Craftsman have a great video on how to remove the clutch assembly.

No chain oil is getting tobar. I've checked for blockage and cann't find any.

Very good chance that your oil pump has a stripped gear. This often causes the oil pump to stop working on these models.

Chainsaw chain oiler not working

There is probably a filter on the bottom of a hose within the oil tank. Go through the tank fill cap with a blunted rod. Move it slowly you should find the hose. Draw it gently toward the opening. You can probably find a new filter at a Husqvarna (parent company) dealer if you don't have a Jonsered dealer handy. Oil pump replacement is complicated. Any good chainsaw mechanic can replace it regardless of what saw they sell. Arboristsite dot com is a buch of chainsaw nuts (Eye r 1). They will give you better guidance. Please do a searh in the chainsaw forum before asking "how do I fix my saw", the answer has almost certainly been asked. Spike60 is a Jonsered dealer and is always helpful. HTH Lou

Have a MAC 3818 chain saw it just stopped oiling.

Same for me. Take chain off and ensure clean oil hole and channel. Clean hole if needed with fine wire or heavy nylon line. otherwise I think problem is interior, either oiler itself or oiler oil tube came loose. Since I have no excess oil coming out I suppose oiler iself is bad.Still working on it.

Chainsaw bar is dry. Chainsaw is full of oil.

my best guess is that your oil pump has gone bad.
