I have an unregistered Emailer plus. Is there anyway to bypass this so that the great phone book and answer machine can be used?

unplug your unit and allow it a few minutes to reset it's self. than call it using a cell phone and see if it does the same thing. If so check you menu option and make sure that the anserwing machine is not set up to only record for a certain period of time before disconnecting the call.

I've had 3 of these phones and I can tell you that if the phone is unable to make regular contact with its system provider, then it will display what you are seeing on its screen. I got fed up with paying for the phone to make daily checks to see if you have any e-mails so asked BT to stop the phone from making contact with headquarters so to speak. This was duly done and it was great for about 6 months, but because the phone could no longer make contact with headquarters it simply died. They get you one way or another. If you want to pay for it to check for e-mails each day then it's the best phone around. I've tried loads since but am now going back to my Amstrad and will have to pay for its daily checks.
Hope this helps. Mike.

I previously had one of these but the screen died. To 'start' the phone software the first call was to Amstrad to register the phone, which also set it up to call in on a regular basis using a premium rate number to collect emails etc. You could set it up to call a minimum of once a week in the evening so cutting down the charges. Support for these ended in 2011 http://www.amstrad.com/emailer_faq/index... I have obtained a new 'unregistered' phone and wondered if anyone knew how to by pass the registration process and 'kick start' the software.
