Re: Cant download ringtones to my LG shine phone
You have to have a memory card in your phone for it to show up as an attached device.....otherwise you will need a program that will recognize the device to transfer data to it. i recommend getting a cheap little micro sd card so that you can simply pull up the device from <my computer> and copy the ringtones/mp3s straight to the removable disk.

You can download a free program called bitpim from bitpim.org. You can make your own tones, and transfer pics, videos, addressbook and more. There are some good youtube videos that will show step by step how to make the ringtones. If you do not have a manual for your phone and you would like one, you can download it here:
You can download ringtones from the at&t store from the phone. Then once it is downloaded, you can set as ringtone or playback. The info is on page 76 of the manual. Too much info to paste here. If you want more info, let me know.

If you want to put music files from your laptop onto your LG Shine, you can either use a LG USB cable or a Micro SD Card. The Micro SD card will probably need an additional adapter to have it big enough for your Laptop or PC slot. Once the music files are on the Micro SD card, insert the card into your LG Shine and go to My Stuff". Then, select "Audio and ringtones" and select the file on your memory card. Press the "Options" button and select the copy function and paste it into your phone.
If you want to get free ringtone's off the computer for you lg then go to youtube.com and type in ringtone's for lg and it will show you a variety of clips you can choose from,
when you find the one you like, follow it along. You should get your
ringtone's soon after that. Hope this helps
SOLUTION!!! (for those with a memory card but no usb cable!)
I’ve been having the same problem in trying to find a way to set my music as ringtones. Here’s what you can do:
-Make sure the file is appropriate.. 30 seconds or less, mp3 format
-When you add your music to the memory card, it shows up as a song but not as a ringtone right?
The solution is to create a different folder rather than using the
“Music” folder the phone automatically creates for you. Transfer your
music to this new folder you’ve created. The ringtones should show up
as long as it fits the requirements! :] Hope this helps!
