SOURCE: Does the Briggs & Stratton 650 series have an

Hi and welcome to FiXya. I am Kelly.
The 650 series engines are a splash oil lubricating system 6.5 Hp engine. There is not an oil filter on this engine.

The manufacturer specs on this engine state to do the first oil change after 5 - 8 hours of use and then at 50 hour intervals there after.

You should use SAE 30W oil for your engine and if you use "synthetic" oil, it does NOT change the interval period.

Here is the actual engine operators manual:

http://www.briggsandstratton.com/pdf/owners_manual/100%5C277039-Domestic.pdf

Oil change procedure is on page 10 of the manual.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

SOURCE: how much oil to put in a 6.25 briggs and stratten

They hold APPROXIMATELY 20 ounces. Put in around 18 oz and start checking the dipstick and adding a little until it gets to the full or MAX or whatever it says on your particular engines stick. Each time you ad a little, give it a chance to drain down or you will get a false reading

What is the coil gap on a Briggs and Stratton 500e series 140 cc engine

If you are replacing the magneto with a new one it should have come with a shim to use. If it is lost or you're resetting the old one a gap of .010" will work.

How to change the oil on a Briggs & Stratton 450

Sandy you can either drain the old oil from the spark plug socket which would be easier or the oil fill point. Remove the spark plug and tilt mower foward getting someone to hold a pot under it. When it's finished draining only put the same amount of oil back in (fresh) When you have done leave the mower somewhere level for a few hours and then start it. It may smoke for a few minutes.

Pull cord wont pull, briggs 500 series

Pull the spark plug out and see if it isnt hydro locked. Someone might have overfilled the oil or the carb float may have stuck open and filled the intake with gas!

If the recoil is still stuck you can remove it from the mower and try it without any load on it. Still stuck? The unit might be rusted solid!
You can spray a little penetrating oil into it but be careful.....the oil will soak the pull cord which should be cleaned and degreased immediately following using the penetrating oil.

What kind of oil does the 22 hp briggs stratton take

from briggs site:
For optimum performance, you should change the oil in your small engine after the first five hours of use and then annually, or every 50 hours of use (whichever comes first).
  • Use Briggs & Stratton SAE 30W Oil above 40°F (4°C) for all of our engines.
  • Check oil level regularly.
  • Air-cooled engines burn about an ounce of oil per cylinder, per hour.
  • Fill to mark on dipstick. DO NOT OVERFILL.
