Yes when you start up your computer press F8. Then select repair your computer. Then it will bring up a menu. Then click on Restore your Computer. Then click on restore to a earlier point of time. Then select the time before you got the virus. Then then click ok. It will restore the computer back to the way it way. X days ago.

Hope this helped.

Its very easy you can format your computer if you have windows xp or vista cd , you donot need any backup cd. and here is the way to format your pc:
The process of formatting is as follows:
1. Insert the WINDOWS XP bootable disk in the CD drive.
2. Restart your PC (if it was already running).
3. Press enter when the monitor reads PRESS ANY KEY.
4. Now comes the time to partition your drives.
5. If you want to delete any partition, press D or L(whichever is displayed on the screen).
6. Afterwards format the drive you want to install the operating system (XP) in.
7. Press ENTER.
8. The formatting will start.
9. Follow the procedures.
10.It should take around 40 minutes for the installation to finish.
11.Use windows(HAVE A GOOD TIME).

let me know if u need anyother information.

Best Regards

How can i reformat my asus eeepc 1000h notebook without using external cd and cant delete all my files?

Hello there. A reformat basically means to erase everything and restore it to a point where it was new.

Now if you still want to reformat, Number 1, you will need the DVD to install the Windows 7 Operating system as well as all your files will disappear. Another thing you may do would be to make a complete back up and then the reformat.

I RECOMMEND the following:

1. If your pc is running slow, download this utility and run its features
http://www.iobit.com/toolbox.html
2. Next you should do a complete PC virus and Spyware scan.
Free Anti Virus:http://free.avg.com/ca-en/download-free-antivirus
Free Anti Malware:http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

If you follow these tips, your laptop would increase its performance drastically so you would not need to reformat. ENJOY

I have a emachines E620 laptop and it is slow as cold molasses.loland was wondering if i could restore in to factory and put a new anti-virus on it without buying the cd from the maker

Yes, go to control panel. Click show icons. Then click recovery,
advanced recovery options. And then reformat and return to factory original. Some programs you can register and update them in someone elses name. End User Agreement. If you sold it, that is. There should be a copy of the original operating system on your hard drive. That is why it didn't come with cd. You was supposed to create one when you first started using it.

If that is the case you have to back up all your important files for you will have to reinstall or reformat your whole hard drive back to its original state If you have the operating system cd installation disc you may use that to reformat your computer.

I CANT REFORMAT MY LAPTOP!!

first youll need a cd the same as the one thats on your computer now. find someone you know and borrow theirs, just make sure that you have your product key that came with your computer, it should be on a sticker thats attached to your computer.
once you require another cd, start your computer up and load it in your computer and then shut it down and restart, it should start to load automatically, if it doesnt youll have to go into setup and change your boot settings.
when you begin loading your new operating system make sure your delete the existing drive or you wont get a complete hard drive format, dont worry it will automatically put your c: drive back where it belongs.
if you need more help let me know, but be specific about your problem.
good luck and would you please leave your feedback
thanks

Don't reformat it just yet. Tell us what OS you are using, and I can try to help.
I will assume you are using WIndows XP or Vista - what you can do, assuming you have kept your PC up-to-date, is try to run the inbuilt Microsoft anti-malware program.
Click Start, Run, type MRT and press Enter or click OK.
You should get the February 2009 version of the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool.
Do a quick scan and see what comes up. If anything is found, reboot and repeat the process doing a full scan (can take several hours).
That should fix and remove the most common virus infections. Let me know how you get on.

If you still need to reformat, you need to use the Dell recovery CDs that came with your laptop. These were a blue recovery/drivers CD and a purple CD for Windows XP sp1 or a green CD for Windows XP sp2. Not sure about other versions of Windows. There is no magic button to reformat with Dell laptops.

Reformating Laptop

Pierre jas:
What diffiulty you are facing in reformatting? You should just put the CD (the original OS CD which came with the laptop and restart the laptop). If you do not have the CD you an just simply put in any operating system CD in and restart the laptop and follow the steps. Make sure when it ask you to perform a quick formatting just select NTFS formatting. Note: I would suggest to back up all your important documents before you do that as everting will be gone once you reformat your hard drive. If your machine is shutting down before it let you save anything, on the command prompt simply put the command 'shutdown -a ' quickly save your work to an external hard drive and after that you can reinstall your OS(operating system).
Hope that helped!
