It is really important to that you have the correct remotes for your opener. The model number is on the end closest to the door and starts with 139.

SOURCE: programing garage door opener

Hold the button on the remote and press and immediately release the smart/learn button. Do this for each of your remotes.

For the keypad press and immediately release the smart/learn button. Walk over to your keypad and key in your 4 digit code and press enter.

If these instructions don't work you have a bad logic board.

How do you get both remotes programed at the same time for our sears garage door opener?

If the problem you are having is if you program one remote the other will not work. If this is the case one of your remotes has reverted to billion code technology. The only fix for this is to purchase a new remote and eliminate the problem remote. You will find the new remote will work with one of your remotes but not the other one. You should remove the battery from the bad one and trash it.

Cannot reset remote to garage door opener Sears craftsman 139.53681B

If you are sure the battery is good then try to program the remote by holding the button down on the remote and then pressing and immediately releasing the smart/learn button. If this doesn't work and you have another remote that does work then the remote has quit working.

Cannot re-program remote transmitters for garage door opener

If both remotes quit at or about the same time then it is most likely the receiver that has quit. Especially if you have had electrical storms in the area. The receiver is part of your logic board.
