Cyberhome 300 DVD Player: pal to ntsc mode?

I have cyberhome 300 dvd player. I hear the sound but donot see any image on the screen. I think there is a problem with the pal to ntsc mode but i cant change it as when i put the dvd in and press SETUP nothing appears and the screen is blank. I cant access the setup of the dvd player and, therefore, cant change it from pal to ntsc mode. I also tried putting it on standby and then opening the disc case and pressing stop for 5 secs. It didnt work. How can i change the mode? Help!!!!!

You might want to reset to factory defaults, but there is an error in the manual. In order to reset to factory defaults, turn on (with no disc inside), DO NOT OPEN THE DISC TRAY, just press the stop button on the player for 5 seconds.

Have you put new batteries in the remote? It sounds as though it simply isn't working. If the original remote just doesn't work, I found a universal remote which works on the Cyberhome CH-DVD 320 (and should work on the Cyberhome CH-DVD 300). The Radioshack "4-in-1 Family Favorites Remote Control", model 15-2142. Available at your local Radio Shack, or probably on ebay.

I don't know what you mean by standby, but the directions for that procedure as I found them describe it differently.

"If you select Progressive Scan and your television doesn?t support it, you may end up with a blank screen and be unable to view the menu in order to fix it. If that happens, fix it by turning the DVD player off then back on. Open the disc tray, then press and hold the STOP button for five seconds."

Another reason you could end up with sound and no video is having the component video cables plugged into the wrong set of plugs in the back of the player or the TV. Make sure that the plug colors on the back of the player that your cables are plugged into exactly match the plug colors on the back of the TV.

Hope that helps, but write back with more detail if it doesn't.

No picture how do i re set nothing works

This might be a case of the player being in the PAL system. Your player is supposed to employ both PAL and NTSC systems. Just look for a key listed N/P on the remote.Press that key once, and you are supposed to be ok.

Cyberhome Ch- DVD 300

Your advice was very helpful. After two+ months of tooling around and navigating around the menu blind I was on the brink of trashing it.

At first I tried the stop button with a dvd in the player with no success. After taking the dvd out, turning in off/on then pressing the stop button for 20 seconds the screen turned blue as said.

This help saved me a great amount of fustation.

Thank You!

How to reset dvd recorder to ntsc from pal

After checking today to see no one offered any suggestions - I solved the problem the hard way - I went into settings and although the screen rolled, I was finally able to click onto the ntsc setting after about a half hour of tries and once I clicked it, my screen returned to normal -- i was then able to enter the code that made the player an all region player and was happily able to play a pal dvd I received recently. The procedure was simple -- offered by a European Cyberhome user -- the company is in bankruptcy so you cannot gt help from them. Note - my Cyberhome dvr is 1500- not 1600 as you listed it.
