Updates fail

Microsoft have a .net removal tool which is sometimes helpful to do before reinstalling framework.if this does not work you need a full uninstaller like revo run it and remove scan registry markers.make sure firewall is off and mse is off before reinstalling fresh framework.
last resort is to reinstall over existing Os ...not fresh install!,, then update framework.this is because Microsoft employ too many cooks and the broth is inedible!

Some updates were not installed, code 800B010B

Believed me you have to reinstall your operating system. I encountered that problem too. I uninstall and re-installed .NET, update windows service packs nothing happened until I reformat the hard drive and install the operating system again.
remember format the hard drive first then install the operating system (backup your data first)

I have .Net 1.1 framework and 2.0 .Net framework installed on my windows xp and now I caanot install .net framework 3.5

I remember wrestling with that myself a while back. Please see this post, and these links. this MS article, and the windows installer cleanup utility here.
Seems to me that with all the service packs and updates and so forth, somehow the installation got corrupted. I had to uninstall the lot and slowly, painstakingly rebuild from the ground up, downloading the installer for a .net version, installing, rebooting , then the service pack for that version, reboot, then the next, etc. in order until I built it back up. Turn off automatic updates while you do it. (Or you can try uninstalling it all and then going to windows update for the downloads, but install them one at a time and reboot before proceeding further. It finally worked. It was a pain. My heart goes out to you...
Good luck.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Print Shop 23 appears to install, but never finalizes

The fact that MS Net 1.1 framework is compatible with the 32-bit version of Vista - because I am using Print Shop 23 on my 32-bit version of Vista.

However, Print Shop 23 is not supported on the 64-bit version of Vista. and MS Net 1.1 framework is not compatible with the 64-bit version of Vista. So, I would guess that you are using a 64-bit version of Vista.

I have heard that one way to work around compatibility issues with MS Net 1.1 framework is to make sure you have the latest update installed for MS Net 1.1 framework. But, since I'm not sure that that is the only recommended fix for your problem, the best thing for you to do would probably be to click on this link

Printer shows error message for print cartiage

I think this is related to your .net framework, which may have become corrupted. Are you on XP?
Please make sure that you have applied all critical & security updates from Microsoft update here and then do a custom update of your system and see if there are .net framework updates that need to be applied for your computer. Download and install them, reboot and check the symptoms again.
Go to HP and check for updated drivers for your printer here
  • If you're still having problems, it will be necessary to uninstall all .NET framework from the add/remove programs in Control Panel.
  • Then download and install the latest version of .NET framework from here. Please read the release notes and make sure you have followed the prerequisites for your installation.
  • Then run windows update to obtain the latest security patch for your .NET
  • If you are unable to uninstall from Add/Remove Programs, you'll need to use the .NET uninstaller tool (Beta) available here
  • or you may avail yourself of this tool to aid in the process. .net cleanup
Additionally, you may wish to read these links:
Repair .net
Finally, you may want to update the other drivers on your system, to prevent other hardware conflicts from arising. Please see tutorials here

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread. If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take a moment to kindly rate this post....thanks!

HP colour laserjet 1600 not recognised by USB port

I believe the problem is related to microsoft .NET Framework. I have researched and there are many posts of incompatibility between .NET Framework and many printers not just 1600. My 1600 stopped working and I traced the problem to upgrade to .NET Framework 3.5 I uninstalled 1600, then uninstalled .NET Framework 3.5 (and 3.0 as well for good measure), reinstalled 1600 and it is working fine now again. You can uninstall .NET versions using Add/Remove programs on the Control Panel. To avoid re-updating, I also turned off Windows automatic updates. I left .NET Framework 2.0. No problems with other programs but the computer did have trouble rebooting the very first time after I uninstalled .NET Framework 3.5 and 3.0. Unknown if that was related to the uninstall or a completely unrelated problem. Anyway if you want to try something less drastic than removing .NET versions, check out this Microsoft link:
refers to a printer fix related to .NET. In my experience, the Microsoft fixes never work but you are welcome to try before uninstalling .NET Framework versions.
