Try a new spark plug. If the insulator on the plug is cracked you will get no spark. You may not be able to see the crack.

SOURCE: Chain Saw, Stihl Model 011, cutting off

I've been messin with my poulan 2150 that was doing the same thing. Good, fresh gas, good spark, etc. I noticed whenever I loosened the fuel cap it would literally spray gas out! alas, I removed the muiffler assy and the darn thing fired up the first pull! I've got the muffler parts soaking in gas right now and I'm sure this the problem. It just makes sense especially if you use the same 'mixed fuel' can for weed eater, blower, etc. Check your's out, it could very well be your problem too! GOOD LUCK

SOURCE: poulan saw wont start has spark and fuel

Look for a pinched/bare stop-switch wire (I assume that you don't have spark now). Also, check the ignition coil core gap to the flywheel magnets (I use card stock to set the gap). Make sure the plug wire was not damaged again.

Are the poles on your flywheel blue? Are you using an open-air inline spark tester, or holding the plug against the cylinder and turning it over?

Poulan 2375le chain saw. just replaced primer bulb, gas lines and diaphram. also has new gas and spark plug. will fire up but wont stay cranked especially when I mash the throttle. please help..

Check the fuel filter, air cleaner and muffler for plugging. Be sure the fuel and oil mix is thoroughly shaken just before filling the tank each time to prevent oil starvation. Set the plug gap to 0.020" and test the spark for being blue and snappy. If weak looking, remove the left side engine cover to expose the flywheel and ignition module. Turn the flywheel so that the magnets are just under the module poles, insert a thin business card into the gaps, loosen the module screws to allow the poles to contact the magnets. Tighten the screws, turn the flywheel somewhat to remove the card, then turn the flywheel one full turn to make sure the gaps don't close up further. Replace the cover and retest spark--if ok, try for start. Hope this helps!

350 16" inc. chain saw want crank with new plug or starter fluid

Check for spark at the plug (gapped at 0.020"). If nothing, remove the left side case and starter--this exposes the ignition module. Check the pole gap with a thin business card for a gauge. Turn the flywheel until the magnets are under the module poles, insert the card into the gap, loosen the module screws and let the module contact the magnets. Tighten the screws, rotate the flywheel somewhat to release the card and recheck for spark. If still nothing, try removing the stop-switch wire from the module and try for spark again. If nothing again, replace the module. Install as above. Hope this helps!

ZR10926 16 Chain Saw: chain saw not working...

Remove the spark plug, lay the base on engine metal, and test for spark which should be blue and snappy. If nothing, try a new plug and retest. If still nothing, remove the left engine cover to expose the flywheel and ignition module. Check the module pole gap by using a thin business card for a gauge--turn the flywheel magnets under the module while holding the gauge in place, loosen the module screws and allow the module to snap to the magnets. Tighten the screws again and rotate the flywheel while turning the card to get it free. Turn the flywheel one turn to check that the gap doesn't get closer at any time. Recheck for spark. If still nothing, remove the grounding wire that goes to the ignition switch from the module and retry again. If still nothing, replace the ignition module. If you got spark in the first test, squirt some fuel into the plug hole and attempt start--if you get a few pops, concentrate on the fuel system. Check the fuel filter, air cleaner, and muffler for plugging. Check the condition of the fuel lines and primer button (if equipped). Make sure the carburetor is tight to the engine and all fasteners are tight. Hope this helps!

Doesn't want to start. Replace carb and ran for few seconds, Make you think that it is not getting gas, but pouring gas into spark plug does not help and drying spark plug dose not help. Spark appears...

The spark should be blue and snappy. Try a new plug--any help? If not, it may need a new ignition module. Check the flywheel magnets--they should be quite strong. The module gap with the magnets underneath the poles should be about business card thickness. Check the air cleaner and muffler for plugging. Hope this gets it running!
