SOURCE: how do I change the blade on my recipocating saw?

There is a small lever on the right front side of the tool. Lift that up to release the blade and push it down to lock the blade in place.

How to take apart the gear box on a milwaukee deep cut band saw 6230n

unplug tool, remove the handle assembly making note of the wiring, turn the tool over and remove the rear pulley under that you will find 2 torx drive screws remove them and then gently tap the housing to start to remove the gear assembly. remove the 4 bolts holding the gearcase to the motor housing and pull apart, when apart you can finish tapping and the lower gear along with the top one will "jump out" Let me know if you still have any problems

Miter saw motor is running back wards

I'd say it was the new wiring that was reversed. Motors cant really start reversing themselves on their own and the only other way it would seem reversed is if the blade was put on backwards...

So yes I think you have the wires reversed when you re-wired the cord.
