Kenmore gas range when no clicking when turning the oven on

Range: Gas burner won't spark or ignite A surface burner igniter switch and a spark module activate the spark electrode when a burner is turned to the "Lite" position on a gas range's cooktop. If the surface burner switch, spark module or wiring in that circuit fails, the spark electrode won't work, and as a result the gas burner won't light. If those components work but the electrode won't spark, the problem could be that the spark electrode is coated with spilled food of is bent or broken. In addition, the electrode won't spark or ignite the burner properly if the ceramic insulation sleeve below the tip of the electrode is cracked or broken. If the gas burner isn't lighting, these repairs may help.

Replace the spark igniter electrode

1396454293470.jpg The spark igniter electrode-also called the surface burner igniter-is an insulated electrode that provides an ignition spark to light a surface gas burner. It sparks and makes a ticking sound when the burner switch is turned to the Lite position. Replace the spark ignition electrode if it fails to spark or if the ceramic insulation sleeve is cracked or chipped. How to Replace a Spark Igniter Electrode in a Gas Range Find This Part

Replace the surface spark module

1377098014986.jpg The surface spark module is in the ignition circuit for the gas surface burners. When a surface burner control knob is turned to the "Lite" position, it provides voltage to the spark electrodes on the gas surface burners. If the surface spark module fails to provide the electrodes with voltage, then it should be replaced. Find This Part

Replace the spark igniter switch

1396454315355.jpg The igniter switch is an electrical switch on the stem of the gas surface burner control valve. This switch completes a circuit to the surface burner spark module, causing the burner igniters to spark when the burner switch is turned to the Lite position. Replace the burner igniter switch if the burners don't spark when you turn the burner control knob to the Lite position or if igniters spark constantly even when the burner knobs are in the Off position.

Repair stihl 45c

Check spark plug is functioning. (replace if unsure)
Check on off switch and wiring from switch to ignition module.
Check ignition module is functioning. (remove earth wire from ignition module, this should make sure the ignition module sends current to the spark plug and not to ground)
Check spacing between flywheel and ignition module. 0.25 filer guage.

PowerMac 310 has no spark

Try a new spark plug. If the insulator on the plug is cracked you will get no spark. You may not be able to see the crack.

On my Webber Spirit E 310 the ignitor no longer works. it does not click. i changed the battery and tried it both ways because I forgot which way I took it out. It had slight corrision on the battery which...

Hi, Kirk. The positive end of the battery should face you, when you install it. Before you rush out to buy a new ignition module, check all the wiring from the module to to each spark ignite. You want to make sure that all wiring is in intact, that the ground wire for the module is attached to the grill frame and that the spark igniters are clean & free of grease.

If you find you need to replace the igniter module, you can find it at the following link.
http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/search/partinfo.php?partsID=496283&modelsID=124200

Hope this helps you. Don't forget you can match light the burners if necessary, until the igniter module is replaced. Happy Grilling!!

I push the button but it just clicks. there is a disconnected white wire but I don't know where to connect it

That white wire runs from the ignition module to the spark igniter on the burner(s). Check the igniter for the one that's missing the wire. Then slide the wire up on the bottom tip of the igniter. It will look like a large diameter needle.

Hope this helped you solve the problem. Happy Grilling!!

Over the winter the igniter stopped working. I installed a new battery but with no effect. What else should I do? Weber Model EP320 or 310.

First, make sure the battery you replaced is facing the right direction. Generally the Positive (+) end should be facing you. Also, check for corrosion in the battery holder. If you see any, WD40 and a Q-Tip works well to clean it. Also check the peizo ignitor tip(s) (Where the spark is to light the burner(s) ) for grease buildup. A cotton ball and alcohol will clean those. Check the wiring from the ignitor module to each spark igniter to make sure it is secure. If not tighten it.

All of the above should help you troubleshoot and hopefully solve the problem.

In June I bought a new Weber grill but the auto ignitor does not work--there is no click--therefore no spark. I can light the grill manually.

If there is no click, it is most likely the igniter module is bad. The igniter module should be available at any Home Depot or Lowe's; in any case, your owner's manual will show you how to remove and replace the igniter module. If you don't have the owner's manual, I will include a link to one online; you will need Adobe to open it. Here is the link: http://www.bbq.us.com/images_templ/weber-manual-3741001.pdf

Try this and if it doesn't fix your problem, come back and let me know and we will troubleshoot further. Good luck!

How to test magnito on McCulloch 310 chainsaw

The only way to test an ignition module on any small engine is on the machine. Simple and easy.First remove the spark plug , then remove the wire that connects the module to the kill switch, its located right next to the plug wire above the laminations. Put a spark tester in the pkug boot and ground the other end. Pull the rope and look for a spark. Its that simple. If you have a spark, check the switch and wire, if you dont, check the grounding screws that hold the module to the block for a clean contact. If you still have no good spark its time to replace the Ignition module (coil). If you dont have a spark tester, ask someone dumb enough to hold it. If they jump and cuss you out you know you have a good spark
