This most likely was a remote ON/OFF for the amplifiers, sometimes it is easier to do than locating the remote wire on the dash unit.

1994 continental. air ride. compressor starts and rear starts to lift, but after 3-4 mins. i get a beep and light on dash says ride control and then she squats in the rear?

When I got my 1994 Continental, it had already been converted back to a coil-spring suspension, and the air-ride system was GONE. You will find that is the case with most of the ones that are still on the road. The air-ride system turned out to be an unreliable, trouble-prone, nightmare for most owners....and it was cheaper to scrap it and go back to after-market coils, than what it was to have a Lincoln dealer fix it. Looks like you're destined to join the club....If you decide you want to have it fixed, and make the car driveable, be prepared to PAY for it.

go to motorcraft.com, pro center, tech info, owner manual, fuses in index.

I may have an owner manual if interested. It would be $5 plus $1.50 postage.

Please rate highly if this helps.

I have a 96 continental, and "check ride control"

is it the front, back, or both? Check the sensors, the one in the rear may have popped off it's mounting bracket-you have 2 in the front (one each side) and the solenoid that vents them may ber stuck closed (located near the air ride compressor)-tap it with a small hammer. If it is all four corners, the air ride module (under the dash, behind the glovebox) is probably either not plugged in properly (wiggle the harness or the connector) or defective (junkyard item, cheap-$5-$10 max).

On my lincoln 96 the brake are sticking on one side front and back i got new calipers

The first thing to replace is the front rubber (flex) line that goes to the caliper from the steel brake line. They can go bad on the inside and not allow the caliper to retract when you take your foot off the brakes. If the rear brake is sticking it isn't retracting properly also, but try the front fix first and see what happens.

How do you "manually" bleed the air bags in a 96 Lincoln Cont. ?

Shut off pump switch located in drivers side panel door in trunk. Jack up car at frame and support with jack stands. This will make sure the car does not come down on you when you release the air.
Pop retaining off of solenoid valve located at top of airbag and turn valve to first stop till air starts releasing
