SOURCE: I have a RYOBI pole

I assume you have the Ryobi powerhead with the multiple tool shaft (can use it with an edger, blower, trimmer, and pole saw) If so, does the powerhead square drive spin when you squeeze the throttle trigger? Does the chain move freely on the saw end when not connected? Is the attachment fully inserted into the powerhead shaft (small spring-loaded button should pop out of the hole when fully inserted.

Replacing the brushes in the RTS10 10 inch Ryobi table saw

Take right side panel off (right as looking at front of table saw). Side panel will be held in place with 8 small Phillips screws. Take flat screwdriver and unscrew round brush holder on either side of
motor. Brushes are held in place with springs and fastener. Flick small fastener with fingernail and fastener and spring should pop out. Pull out fastener/spring/brushes(all one piece). Replace with new brushes (about $8/piece on ebay).

When i press the switch of the saw it starts then immidiately stop after few seconds

After never using for 6 months, I finall had the need to use my Ryobi saw and had the same problem. Push the switch and it would make one revolution and die. I took the blade off and the end cover oppsote end to epose the other end of the motor shaft. Applied small drop of oil to each. Continued to play with trigger and finally got the motor to get running. Held it on for several minutes. I had to do this several times in order for it to start working properly. Might ne something with breaking in the brushes. Regadless, it works now. Give it a try. Be patient.

My Ryobi 10 inch miter saw, model TS 1340 has been working fine for years, now in the last 7 days, I see heavy sparking at the carbon brushes and a drop in power from the saw, there is a strong smell of...

It sounds like the armature has developed an open commutator bar. What did the brushes look like that you took out. But before I assume the worst I would unplug the tool and remove both brushes and with a flas light look into the brush tube while slowly rotating the armature looking for a discoloration or raised bar. If not you might bet by with cleaning the commutator with a special stone for this, you might be able to get one at the repair shop where you bought the brushes. If you want to send me the photo of the arcing it might help on my end. Let me know
