Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. All the cooling comes from the freezer side. So if the fresh food side is working then the freezer is only producing enough to allow the temps to be around 38 degrees. Do you notice any frost on the freezer back wall? Its possible its a defrost issue. Can you hear the fan Running in the freezer when the compressor is on? If these all seem fine then I would say you have a sealed system issue. Either a leak or bad compressor. Since its only a few months old call for factory service it should have a one year warranty on parts and labor.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..
If the defrost thermostat is bad it will need to be replaced, otherwise you will have to continuously manually defrost the unit.
The noise you hear is probably the fan hitting the ice.
The defrost thermostat assists in melting that ice about every eight hours.
the ice maker slows as the tempt in freezer gets warmer . icw cream get softer ect . ck for ice build up in back of freezer and the evap fan motor may be running to slow causing poor air flow . ck these first . mm
There is a flap the seperates and controls the air flow from fridge to freezer, they have a tendency to freeze stuck in one direction. Otherwise they can also brake or agitator that controls the flap may be faulty.
Make sure your fan is working ,its located behind the freezers back wall. If it is working the vent from the freezer down to the refrigerator may be blocked (usually with ice). With out a fan you have no circulation but your freezer may look likes its working,it may last 3 days. Also if you can move everything out unplug it turn it off w/ doors open untill all traces of ice are gone this will free up any clogged tubes. Good luck. Len West
