Since you used an adapter, the first thing I would do is adjust the output levels on the adapter to the RCA. If this is not helping you then I would definitely look into replacing we stock head unit since its in 1999 vehicle. These stock radios were made to put out anywhere between 8 and 11 watts per channel. If you put an aftermarket radio you're going to have a much cleaner stand because you will be eliminating the RCA adapter which is already restraining what the capabilities are of the RCA cables.

RCA output level and speaker level output have different voltages and currents. The problem you are describing is common to folks trying to connect an OEM dash unit to an aftermarket amp. If your amp has speaker level inputs, try wiring to those......best bet..buy a new head unit, it'll sound better...louder and cleaner.

Don't know how to install equalizer. Where does

hi input wiring hooks up to speaker wire outputs on the stereo. in 2008 chrysler has no ignition or accessory outputs. everything is digital, if you use a trunkloc from PAC electronics you will be able to hookup your outputs from the deck into this unit and it will provide you with the RCA, and remote power output needed for your system to operate. the factory deck should have battery and ground at the plug but no acc.

Do not have a sub output on receiver /do not know which wire to plug into the amp sub input/5 channel amp /have rca output for front and rear speakers

Hello southernbike,

With a 5-channel amp (stereo L/R front, stereo L/R rear, and subwoofer) you only need the two pair of stereo inputs.

You do not say which brand and model of amp you have, but most have an output configuration similar to the Alpine shown in this link. Connect the front and rear RCA's from your receiver, your vehicle speakers to the respective output terminals, and your subwoofer to the 5th channel terminals.

Hope this helps.

Can't get my amplifier to work.

My homie had the same problem with his escalade they adapted an rca line adapter from the factory wiring to geta signal to his amplifier and it just wasnt hitting like it should so we installed a new deck and plugged the rca cords right into it and boomboom pow it was hittin like a champ-we figured that the stock premium system that was incoprporated into the truck had some sort of an onboard amp that was filtering the bass from the door speakers and which was limiting the bass output to the rca adapter and thus on down the line to the amplifier- so maybe ya might want to look into getting an aftermarket deck and see if that helps your cause-good luck

Sounds like your RCA's are the source of your problem. Unplug your RCA's before you turn your car on. You may need to isolate your RCA's and the ground wire on the back of your head unit.

THUNDER 5601 WHEN VEHICLE TURNED ON, SUBS BOOM, THEN WORKS OK. ALSO WHEN RADIO TURNED OFF

If the amp produces no boom with no signal input cables connected, I'd suggest using an LOC.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

He may be right! You might try finding a new source of contact for your ground cause it may not be sufficent enough to ground to, also make sure that no wires from the back of your radio have any wires sticking out touching other interfering things that could possibly be causing the noise

1200w Nitro amp

yes it could be your ground..check your negative from the amp is going to the car body and not the battery. also try a new set of rca leads from the stereo to the amp..also check that your stereo audio out voltage is the correct voltage for the amp inputs.
