Ok I have the best solution for you you need to do the follow in order to solve this problem ok My name is Juan and I am a ps3' proff so don't worry this is fixable in a portable usb card reader install the newer ps3 update go to sony and in your usb created a folder with the name PS3 in capital letters and inside this folder created another folder with the name UPDATE and download the update on this folder once you have the update ready connect the usb storage device to your ps3 turn the ps3 on and press the PS logo on your ps3 control then on the next screen press STAR and SELECT at the same time and the ps3 is going to start looking for the update follow the instactions and then some model on the next screen you have to press again SELECT and START at the same time but this time hold them for 5 seconds and the update will start after the update finish it will start normally if you have problems doing this call me at 706 529-0579 and ask for juan thanks

My PS3 doe's the same the wave thing comes on but no main menu but the screen is green. I don't want to lose my memory I'm so far on my games if someone could help contact me

Ok, please follow my guide BUT DO NOT CHOOSE OPTION 5 TO START WITH!!

Please choose option 3 first, then 4 then as a last resort 5, option 5 WILL wipe your hard drive -

My nephew's original xbox will not turn on it just flashes green and orange around the power button

If your system has had an internal system error (three lights) and is now having issues recognizing controllers, remotes, and/or personal music player's, the only currently know solution is to rerun initial setup.

Rerun initial setup
Before trying this, it's highly recommend that you remove all hard drive and memory cards. Once you've removed all hard drives and memory cards, navigate to the systems tab in the main menu and select the "Initial Setup" option. Once you select the option, it will ask you if want to run the initial setup that occurred when you first started your console. Say yes and it will do its thing. When it asks for a memory card/hard drive, just decline and it should be done. You should see the default dashboard screen as confirmation that it did, in fact, rerun initial setup.

Resetting to factory defaults / resetting parental locks (unconfirmed)
This was posted on the xbox-scene forums and might work only with older versions of Xbox 360 dashboard.

Press the following key combination

  • Left Trigger, Right Trigger, X, Y, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, Up, Left Bumper, Left Bumper, X

This should give you a dialogue asking whether or not you want to reset your system to factory default settings.

Reset Xbox 360 video settings
While the Xbox 360 is starting up, hold Y and Right trigger. This will cause the system to reboot and reset the video settings.

Playstation 3 screen says " cannot start, the correct hard disk was not found." after turned on. will do nothing else. any ideas?

A long shot but it sounds like your hard drive has basically "switched off". If you have a USB sata hard drive dock I can help but its a bit of a complicated process. You need to remove the hard drive from the PS3 and plug it into the USB sata dock then connect it to your computer. Goto Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Managment. Look in the lower area of the screen that appears for your PS3 drive, probably E:, and look if it says "Not initialized". If it does, right click where it says that then click Initialize Disk. Put it back in your PS3 when it is done and hopefully it will turn back on. You will lose all saved data though as the hard drive will need to be formatted.

Hope this helps

When i turn on my ps3 it says the correct hard drive cant be found. also the blue light is not on only the green power light

First of all the blue light will only be on if a disc in the in system. If the disc is in and no blue light I am not sure what the problem is. As far as the hard drive. You can do a system restore. If will format your hard drive and you will lose all saved game data and anything else you had on the drive. If you downloaded items from the playstation store, you can download them again. Just deactivate your system from the store if yoc. You might also try removing the hard drive and then putting it back in. See if it came lose at all.

Carried out an update, but now stuck in loop

Procedure for Entering Safe mode when PS3 is caught in update loop:

When you first turn on the PS3, it will not allow you to go into Safe mode. You must prepare it for this.

link for flash drive prep:
http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/SystemUpdates/PS3/pc_update.html#update_PC

(This will not work for the drive that currently is caught in the update loop. You must take the hard drive out of the PS3 and temporarily replace it with another 2.5” SATA drive. Note: temp drive may need to be initialized… Connect drive to pc, right click on My Computer and select Manage… Then select disk Management… you will then be presented with a dialogue box that will assist in initializing the disk.. However, only initialize it… Do Not Format it!(waste of time) Once the disk is initialized disconnect it from external enclosure or shut down computer and remove disk)

From the top:

1.) Plug in PS3 and flip switch in back of PS3 to on. Red LED in front of PS3 should light up. Also, plug in Controller at this point.
2.) Hold finger to I/O button on front of PS3 – Green LED lights up
a. You will hear one beep, then another single beep, then a final beep and the PS3 will power off again and Red LED will be on
3.) Hold finger to I/O button on front of PS3 – Green LED lights up
a. You will hear one beep, then another single beep, then two beeps
4.) As soon as you hear the two beeps, hold PS button on Controller
a. You will then be presented with an options screen
i. Restart System -- leads back to update loop
ii. Restore Default Settings --
iii. Restore File System -- leads back to update loop (8002F14E)
iv. Rebuild Database --
v. Restore PS3 System --
vi. System Update -- will cause error
5.) You will then remove the temporary SATA drive from the PS3 and replace it with the hard drive that is caught in the update loo
6.) I am currently stuck attempting to Restore Default Settings and Im sure it will end in error, but i have to try all possible solutions.

Turn it on and push the output connector in the back, just move it a little in and out could be a bad connection.

Error msg cannot start correct harddrive not found

Your hard drive has died. You must replace it. Get any size SATA 2.5" notebook hard drive replacement and install it. I have seen this issue plenty of times. Usually on the old 40GB systems.
