You should have removed the battery immediately, and dried the camera for several days in a warm and dry area. Then replace the battery and hopefully the camera works again.
I suggest you take your camera to a Kodak digital camera repairer and get a quote for a repair. If maybe cheaper to put your money towards a new digital camera.

Cry, unless you can get it back to where it once was! Fixing too expensive and not cost effective.

Screen is saying memory card protected

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Koday m522 digital camera switches itself off as soon as I have linked it up to my computer. Why is this happening?

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Camera is not working with battery

Clean the battery contacts. All batteries give out fumes and coat the contacts. Never leave batteries in the camera when you stop using it.

M 522 Lens Obstructed Problem solution

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens obstructed errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them:
