With the washer set for spin and turned on...raise and lower the lid.
If it spins replace the timer.
If it does not spin...replace the direct drive coupling on the motor.

Washer will not drain, spin or agitate

If your washer has suddenly stopped spinning properly, you will notice that your clothes will be sopping wet when the washer is done. Typically, there is a simple reason for this problem that you can fix without calling in a professional.Check the drain hose to see if anything is plugging it. Sometimes small pieces of material go out with the wash water and become lodged in the drain hose.Check the lid switch. You will notice on the lip of the lid there is a small stem that hangs down. This fits into a hole on the top of the washer housing and tells the washer the lid is closed and it is safe to spin the load. If the switch is faulty or has been blocked, the washer will not agitate or spin.http://www.mrsuds.biz/

AGITATOR WILL NOT SPIN, WATER WILL DRAIN BUT NO SPIN

Does your motor sound like it is running in the agitate or spin cycle or is it quite? If the motor makes no sound, then you need to replace the lid switch with this part.
If you hear the motor running in the agitate or spin cycle but you don't see any action, then replace the motor coupler with this part.

The washer is not spinning and clothes are extermely wet top load 3.5

Hi, Well try to set the washer on the regular cycle, large load and let it fill. After the washer fills to the selected level, the motor should start and the agitator should start agitating.
If you hear the motor running, but the agitator doesn't move at all, do the following:-
Stop the washer and set the timer on the spin cycle and let it run.
If the washer motor runs and the washer empties the water from the tank, but it won't spin, that is an indication that the motor coupler is not turning the transmission at all.
The motor coupler is made of two pieces of plastic called fingers and a hard rubber piece that goes in between the two fingers. One of the fingers is attached to the motor and the other finger is attached to the transmission. The had rubber round piece goes between the two fingers. When one of the plastic fingers breaks, the motor is no longer coupled to the transmission and the washer will not agitate or spin dry the clothes. The reason that the motor coupler breaks before it should, it is that the user overloads the washer. People stuff the washer with too much clothes, big comforters, small placer rugs, snickers, etc.
Another reason is that the washer is used every day; normally the washer is used 3 times a week. So if you have a washer that is 5 years old and you use it every day, it has the wear and tear of a washer that is 10 years old.
Replacing the motor coupler is not hard to do, once you see how the repair is done. You will save at least $100 by replacing the motor coupler yourself.

Thanks!

Will no longer spin

Hi, I have to ask a couple of questions to pin point this for you. Does the washer agitate?
When the washer is in the spin cycle, Does the motor run at all? The most common problem with the spin cycle is either the lid switch or the coupler. This is why I am asking the questions.
Please let me know so I can assist you.

Everything is working except the spin cycle

Sounds like the spin coil/brake solenoid is burnt out or broken. This is a coil situated on the motor plate under the machine with a lever attatched to it. When the machine goes into spin cycle, this solenoid pulls the brake away from the outer drum to allow the drum and agitator to spin together. The shaft that goes into this coil should move in and out freely. If tight, replace spin coil/brake solenoid.
