Re: Installing ink cartridge in Lexmark X125
The front panel is hinged at the bottom so grab the top and pull towards you. Under that is a protective cover, the one with the 2 paper guides. towards the bottom of that there is a hole in the middle. Put your thumb in it and lift the cover up. Your carrier for the cartridge is under that. Please Rate!

Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark X125 Printer Driver on your computer. Select your operating system, download and execute the file. Follow the instructions on your computer screen.
Look at the indicator light on your Lexmark
printer. You'll need to replace ink cartridges when the light flashes or
turns red instead of the standard green.
Purchase Lexmark ink cartridges. You can buy the brand name
or purchase a generic version that is compatible with your printer. You
can shop for low cost ink cartridges from ABC Ink.
Remove the old cartridges from your printer. Grip the sides
of the Lexmark ink cartridges and pull it out. Dispose of the ink
cartridges in a recycle program like the one at Staples or save the
cartridges for refill.
Install the new ink cartridges after removing the protective
tabs. Avoid touching the IC chip when installing the new Lexmark ink
cartridges. Replace the cover of the printer.
Allow the Lexmark printer to run a nozzle test. Print several
pages with the new ink cartridges to make sure you installed the ink
cartridges correctly. The indicator light should return to a solid green
All cartridge installation and level reporting is done through the printer itself, not the software. You should ensure the X125 has the cartridges installed in stand alone mode first. To do so, open the lid and remove the cartridges. Then unplug the power cord for one minute. Reinsert the cartridges, connect the power cord and close the lid. When the lid is closed, the display will ask you if "New" or "Old" cartridges were installed. If new, align the cartridges, if asked to do so. If this still presents you with a "Change Cartridge" message or something similar, please try a different cartridge.
Did you go into your printer properties and select new cartidge installed? If this doesn't work, take the cartridges out and clean the contacts on the side and in the carrier with a qtip and rubbing alcohol. Give it a few minutes to dry and reinstall the cartridges.
gently pull the front panel towards you. then lift the back panel (towards the wall). your cartridges will come forward. gently pull them towards you to unclick then from the holders. there should be directions on the inside of the back panel on how to install/replace them. Hope this helps.
