For IE7:
Open Internet Options
under the General tab, delete your temporary internet files, all of them.
under the Security tab, click on reset all zones to default.
under the privacy tab, click the default button.
under the advanced tab, click the Restore advanced settings button.
Click ok, and try Yahoo again.

If you still get the error message then check the settings in any security or privacy software you may have running. Check for cookie management settings in any such software.

Good luck!

How do I change security settings so I can download Classic, it says security settis want allow me to do this

Step 1:
Internet cookies allow certain information on webpages to be saved for when the user returns to them. For example, a Yahoo! homepage customization requires cookies, so the user will have the exact same setup every time he returns to the Yahoo! homepage. Browsers typically come with cookies enabled by default, but sometimes a user might disable them and forget that he did. Changing the browser security settings back to allowing cookies is easy.

Click the tools pull-down menu along the top of the browser. "Click" "Options" and select "Privacy." Allow cookies. For Firefox, tick the checkbox next to "Allow cookies from sites." For Internet Explorer, click the "Default" button. Select "OK" to save changes. b> Safari Browser Click the "Menu" button. Select "Preferences," and then "Security." Select "Always" next to "Accept Cookies." Click "OK" to save changes. b> Google Chrome Select the "Tools" pull-down menu. Click "Options," and then "Under The Hood." Select "Content Settings" in "Privacy." Ensure "Allow local data to be set" is selected for both first- and third-party cookies.

Yahoo mail opens on my computer without me signing in even after signing out and choosing the option "dont remember" password for this site. Not secure, anybody can access my mail

Good Day Dawam98!

There are cookies and caches that are set to remember identity of the user and its session. And there are cookies that are needed that helps the user sign out in its session. This could the problem you are experiencing right now.

There are two possible fix to this kind of problem. And it works for browsers like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.

First, we try to clear the caches and cookies on the internet browser you are using so that we could clear any user id and password that you used to sign in on the sites that you want like Yahoo! Mail.

Secondly, we will try to enable the cookies in the internet browser that you are using to allow you to sign out on the sites that you want like Yahoo! Mail.

And hope at the end of this procedure, it will fix your problem.

First solution: Clear cache and remove cookies of your internet browser

For Internet Explorer user, launch your Internet Explorer by clicking it. Press the Tools menu to scroll down and select the Internet Options. When an Internet Options window appear, select the General tab. Press the Delete button next to Delete browsing history or Delete Cookies (the Internet Options format may vary depending on the version of Internet Explorer) but the idea is to delete the cookies (that may also leads you to clearing the history and caches)

For Mozilla Firefox user, launch your Mozilla Firefox browser by clicking it. On the Tools menu, press Options. When an Options window appears, select on Privacy tab. Press the clear your recent history button. Select everything and press the Clear Now button. Next, press the remove individual cookies button, and press Remove All Cookies button. (On some version of Mozilla Firefox, Privacy tab may vary, but the idea is to remove cookies and clear caches.)

For Google Chrome user, launch your Google Chrome browser by clicking it. On Settings, select Options. (on other version, click Customize and Control Google Chrome button next to address bar and select Options). On Options window select on Under the Hood tab. On some version the format may vary but the idea is to clear the browsing history, empty cache and delete cookies.

Second and best solution: Allow cookies

Yahoo need foreign cookies to be enabled in order to sign you out.

For Internet Explorer user, launch your Internet Explorer by clicking it. Press the Tools menu to scroll down and select the Internet Options. When an Internet Options window appear, select the Privacy tab. Set the slider to Medium setting. This settings is enough to allow cookies on your Internet Explorer browser. Click Apply then OK button.

For Mozilla Firefox user, launch your Mozilla Firefox browser by clicking it. On the Tools menu, press Options. When an Options window appears, select on Privacy tab. Select Use custom settings for history next to Firefox will:. Make sure there is a check mark next to Accept cookies from site. Click OK button to close.

For Google Chrome user, launch your Google Chrome browser by clicking it. On Settings, select Options. (on other version, click Customize and Control Google Chrome button next to address bar and select Options). On Options window select on Under the Hood tab. On some version the Under the Hood format may vary, click on Change Google Gear Settings or Content Settings button. On Cookie setting, make sure to select the Allow All Cookies or Allow local data to be set (recommended).

It would be great if you let me know which solutions works for you.
A click on YES button in this solution is much appreciated.
Thank you for asking Fixya.

When i enter in yahoo address and prassword after clik enter button then it says wrong password or invalid e_mail id if any one see this message please solve this problem for me

I've got several ideas to try to get around "Invalid ID or password. Please try again."
  • Set your CAPS LOCK key correctly. Passwords are case sensitive. Be sure to keep this in mind when entering your password.
  • Wait up to 24 hours. If you recently requested a new password or changed your password, this allows your account to update.
  • Sign in with the correct Yahoo! ID. Make sure that you are using the correct Yahoo! ID when signing in to your account. If you forgot your Yahoo! ID, you can search for your Yahoo! ID online.
  • Delete your cookie files. A cookie is a small piece of information stored by your browser that helps identify you. If your cookie isn't being accepted correctly, you'll be logged out of your account as soon as you move to a different page.
To delete your cookies, close all browser windows, find the "cookies" directory, and delete the cookie files inside. To find cookies directories on a PC, search for "cookies" using the Search function in your Start menu that pops up from the lower-left corner. On a Mac, press Command-F to start Spotlight, which searches your system.
  • Clear your browser's cache. At times, it's necessary to clear your browser's cache . The cache is the memory your browser uses to store content of the web pages that you visit. Storing that content lets your browser load those same pages more quickly the next time you visit them.
If you're still having problems after trying these steps, please request a new password. When you receive your new password, you can change it.

Cannot log in because it says that it refused cookies

In order to use Yahoo mail (and other like Hotmail), you need to allow 'third- partes cookies' to be created/used in the specific browser you are trying to use. The Cookies setting are done under your specific browser Option and you can use 'Help' to find out how to get there. For Internet Explorer, use 'Internet Options' -> 'Privacy' tab -> set setting to 'Medium' will normally work otherwise use 'Advanced' option if you wish to program it yourself. Please note: if your browser allows any cookies and you are still having problem, then your Firewall is stopping your access. Hope it helps.

The browser i am using refuses to sign in. (cookies rejected)

hi, If you can't get there because you need to enable cookies, I can help you.

Go to the tools menu up at the top of the Internet Explorer or you can get there in the control panel. From there you need to open the Internet options and then click on the privacy tab.

Next click on the advanced button and look at the picture on the link below to see what has to be checked. Then hit apply and close or OK.

If this doesn't work, go to the main tab and delete your cookies and try it again. Check the date, including the year, on your computer clock. Well ...I said it was silly didn't I? smile.gif But it's a quick thing to look at ...and it really can cause the problem. or What happens if you turn off any kind of cookie control in Firefox. Tick the 'Allow sites to set cookies' box and select the option to keep cookies 'until they expire'.

Does Yahoo now let you in if the password is typed? If you are setting cookies to expire when the browser is closed, then the cookie won't be there (or won't be current) to automatically log you into sites next time you go back. Maybe clear the cookies and start again with the'until they expire' option set and see how that goes. or try with other browser like opera thank you,

you may have lost your cookies.
Have you got 2 browsers on your PC?. Its always handy for troubleshooting. I use IE and Firefox, If something is not working with one I launch the other.
Most sign in problems can be cured by cleaning up internet browsers and re-setting cookies
Try this.
Download ccleaner and give it a couple of runs include 'registry' from left hand toolbar. Do not be alarmed by the amount of files you have to delete - especially if you do not clean out your browser on a daily basis.…

Make sure 'caps lock' is not applied and type your password where you can read it, to ensure you have no sticky letters or numbers transposed.
Set your status to "offline" in yahoo MAIL by using the dropbox next to your name. This will allow you to have mail and messenger open at the same time.
Restart your computer
Use this link for the first sign in, to reset your cookies…
Sign in.
note - you may have to drop the '' to sign in
Keep ccleaner for regular maintenance of your browser
