Take the carb with you to a mower shop and ask they should sell you the kit. the rubber seat that has to be replaced only goes in one way. there will be a ring on one side that needs to face down. if put in upside down it will leak gas.

You said you replaced the needle, but did you replace the seat that the needle moves in to? If the seat is bad, it may not be sealing well even when the carb is full of gas and the float is pushing the needle in to the closed position. If it is a tecumseh carb, you can buy a kit that comes with a new needle, new seat, new bowl gasket and new bowl nut gasket. The kit is about 3 dollars and should fix you up. The kit i am referring to is part #1606506, but you may want to check and make sure that will work for your model. Regardless, the same pieces that fit your carb should do the trick.

My 20hp TVT691 Tecumseh intermittently misses on one cylinder and has no power ????

Hello! The engine has two carb's...There are know for varnish build-up in their passageways...The carb associated with the problem cylinder is more than likely the fault...Spray cleaners do not work...Buy a gallon of "Gunk" which has a parts tray...Disassemble the carb and let it soak overnight...There are literally hundreds of different carb types on that engine...There is an extension # after the model # that begins with the # 6...And also a # on the Carb...You'll need that information when you buy a rebuild kit...Kit cost is under $10...The gallon of Gunk Carb cleaner, although expensive, will last a very long time...Send a comment...

Contact the number at the upper right of the page if you can't find a schematic close to yours. They may send you one for free if they have it.

stale fuel varnish in the carburetor? See your dealer for a carb kit (1 kit does pretty much all Tecumseh lawnmower engines, but there will be parts left over), drain the fuel from the float bowl on the carburetor before storage

Tecumseh ohv130 engine wont start. It has spark, fuel, clean air filter, good battery,I have checked the valve clearance and set them to .004'', the plug sparks, the flywheel key is not sheared, the carb is...

Replace the carburetor. It is not fixable, even though you can buy a rebuild kit for it. Been there, done that-- had to learn the hard way. What?? I said to myself. I've been fixing these small engines (shade tree) for years, and we always could rebuild the carb and adjust for peak performance. I absolutely refused to believe that my "rebuild" didn't "fix" this carb. Hard to believe, but true. Replace the carburetor. This is your "something new" you've learned for today.

Ariens ST724 carb issue

You'll need the model and serial number and also the carb will be helpful, if you take that info and the carb to your local lawnmower shop they will be able to supply you with the right kit.
