The above link will provide a video on how to clean the carb on the 6.5 hp mower. Before you go to that length, try putting some carb cleaner in the fuel tank and see if that corrects the problem. Also, as the video shows, make sure the spark plug is getting a good spark. If the spark is weak , the fly wheel may be rusted, ot the magneto is bad.
That is a little or no fuel situation. There is a passage clogged in the carb. Check to be sure fuel is getting to the carb from the tank. Check your fuel to make sure it is fresh ( no more than 10 days old) and has no water; then remove the carb and clean it again thouroughly. On the left side of the carb is a small black or white plastic cap. remove the cap and underneath you find the slotted head of a fixed jet. Remove the jet and be sure the openings are clear. A rebuild kit for Tecumseh carbs is available, part # 631021B
Maybe....used carbs can be acquired fairly cheap at places like eBay or you could just try to rebuild the one you now have. 4 stroke carbs are easier to build thans 2-stroke. Find the model # of the carb and get a rebuild kit. They don't make Tecumseh anymore but there are still plenty of parts and kits available to repair them.
