Yellow power port is broken off, can I take the unit apart and fix it?

Can I hard wire the car plug charger into the unit?

Although i wouldn't recommend it, this is possible. just make sure you match the wires correctly.

i have these power ports and can also help repairing it for anyone thats not able to do it themselves

If you're out of warranty there are third party gps repair services that take care of this problem. There are also gps repair tutorials that show you how to DIY it, if you're comfortable with taking things apart.
