SOURCE: Kenwood KA-72B Stereo Receiver HELP NEEDED.

Why not plug the cassette directly into the CD recorder? Are they trying to achieve some eqalization change? If not, then this should work. It's all analog at tape level.

SOURCE: Cleaning Vintage Pioneer Receivers

I wouldn't worry about static shocks there are very few micros in the older receivers.

To clean the interior, Remove the screws on both sides of the receiver and possibly one or 2 screws on the back near the top and the cover should come off fairly easily.

Use an air compressor to canned air to blow out any dust (recommend doing this outside on a windy day). If the dirt/grime is stuck to the board after blowing it out you can get circuit board de-greaser at mcm electronics (or you can google it)

You may need to clean the pots also (if you get static when adjusting. remove the bottom cover (many screws) and spray a few drops of wd40 or similar lube in the pots themselves then work the pot back and forth several times.

Good Luck.

Yes, but it depends on your laptop hardware and software. We'd need to know a lot more about that side.

SOURCE: Pioneer Sa-9900 vintage home stereo pops loudly

Usually indicates old/faulty transistors or capacitors, not uncommon with a unit of this age. A good repairman can restore these to working condition.

Bought a Pioneer SX580 receiver, everything lights up but can't get any sound

Do you know for sure that it works okay? i.e. did you hear it playing through speakers before you parted with your cash?

Have you checked for buttons that switch the speakers on/off (Speakers A/B A+B) or a manual mute button?

Pioneer SX990

I just scored an SX990 in the original styrofoam packing case with a full manual, spec sheets & all at a thrift store yesterday. It looks mint, especially for something ca 1969-70. I'd be happy to make a copy of the manual for you if you haven't been able to find one yet.
