An ohm meter can determine only if the coil is open. For an 8 ohm speaker (impedence), the resistance measurement will be around 6 ohms. Why do you think these need reconing? Are they noisy?

There are several ways to hook up a EQ to amp. If you have a tape monitor unused, you can plug tape-in of amp to 'out' of EQ.
Plug tape out of amp to 'in' of EQ (both channels). When you engage monitor on amp, EQ will work.
