Question about Televison & Video
We changed the batteries in the remote and we still can't change channels or adjust the volume either with the remote or on the TV itself.
Do you have a universal remote? If the batteries are taken out for a little period of time, the remote will loose the codes and they will have to be reset. You can find the codes by google universal remote codes.
If you have a factory remote that came with the television, than it may be faulty or the sensor on remote or tv may need to be cleaned.

SOURCE: can't turn tv on with remote, only manually, when on volume is at 100 and cannot be adjusted with remote or manually. channels cannot be changed with remote or manually. Changed batteries in remote,
replace with new batteries and it works --- so simple
