1 Answer

Ebox fails to load up

1- When I press the on/off button the ebox comes on and displays the image of the CORE CELL logo (this happens within the first 10 seconds of turning the ebox on.
2- After this the monitor starts to flash as if it is turning on and off repeatedly. This is as far as the ebox loads up to.
3- The ebox fails to get to the windows XP logo screen.
Any one know what the problem is???
Thanks for your help in advance.

I have this problem. A PC engineer has told me that the motherboard - K9mgm-2 ms-7252 version 1.2 is failing. The problem is now to find a replacement motherboard as it needs to have an infrared connector and media output socket at the rear. I have contacted the recommended service partner for Evesham below.

To load the bios, you have to do this during computer startup on the first display message. It's usually pressing F8 while your computer is booting. If you get to the OS loading screen then you have to try it again :o

It should list an entry of possible keys during startup, it's pretty much usually contained within the F keys.

I hope this helps :)

Windows wont start. dont know how it happened.

Does F2 mean to enter setup or does F12 mean to enter setup, Press the particular key on the keyboard to enter setup and Go to Exit using your up-down keys on the keyboard (it varies with different motherboards) and go to Load Optimized Default then Yes and press F10 - Yes and it will automatically restart the system, b2.jpg if both are not displaying anything to do, restart the system and press Delete button and follow the same instructions as mentioned above. (If the BIOS screen is similar as displayed above, then just highlight the Load Optimized Default using your Up and Down Keys on the keyboard {Y for yes, Enter for OK}).. It's will boot from the hard disk as default not from the CD-rom..Good luck...

We have an Advent 7088 laptop and want to connect it to wireless router. We thought a wireless facility was already installed in the 7088 but when we try the wireless on/off button nothing happens. What...

Try this: I found it after doing some searching on the web.

Wireless card stops working after upgrading to Windows Vista
After upgrading to Windows Vista everything works fine apart the Marvell Wireless card, when you press the button nothing happens.
There seems to be three different ways of solving this problem (there is a fourth - don't install Vista) and I've listed them below, hopefully at least one should work for you.
The first solution is to press the wireless button while Windows Vista is loading, you have to be quick though as it only works if you press the button between the loading scrolling lines logo (after the post screen) and before the windows logo appears.
The second is to go into Device Manager, select the Marvell Wireless card and then go to Properties>Advanced>Default Adhoc Mode. Here change the Default Adhoc mode to B or G. When you confirm the change the wireless connection should become active, if it doesn't then press the wireless button and try changing the setting again.
The third method is to create a desktop shortcut to the wireless adapter. Go to [Network and Sharing Centre]>[Manage Network Connections] and then right click the wirless connection and choose Create Shortcut. You can then switch on the wireless at any time, just point at the shortcut then right click and chose Disable. Once its disabled right click on the shortcut again and choose Enable. It should then connect within 20-30 seconds.

Same here!

Here is what you can try to do, Remove the batteries, don't plug in the ac adapter. Press and hold the power button for ten (10) seconds then release it. plug in the ac adapter on the computer without the battery, try to turn it on. If it turns on just wait for it to load then shut it down again, if it doesnt still have the display, press and hold the power button for ten seconds to shut it down. Unplug the ac adapter put the battery in and then try to turn it on, if it doesnt have a display still, there might be something wrong with the video cable, you need to have someone do it for you. If it happens that it turns on and have display it means that you need to have your ac adapter checked. if it happens the it turns on and have a display without the battery only, you need to have your battery checked. Hope this helps

What does No Power/No POST Troubleshooting mean

It refers to two symptoms. No power just means the machine is dead and nothing happens when you press the power button on the computer. POST stands for Power On Self Test. This is what happens just after you press the power button - the computer checks devices connected to it then starts to load Windows or whatever operating system you have. If the computer is dead, then it is often caused by a faulty power supply (metal box where the power cord goes in. If it won't POST then an error may be displayed to tell you where it stopped during POST, or error beeps may sound to tell the technician which part of POST has failed. Sometimes, you may hear the fans and hard disk, but the monitor stays dead. This is usually caused by the RAM coming loose in it's socket or the video card coming loose/ failing.
