Purchased a new D-link router, Cannot open my VPN for my work through the router, what is the problem. My VPN wored before my modem was connected to the router, what can I do?

Not all routers will pass all types of VPN successfully. My last D-Link router would pass a PPTP VPN with no problem, but completely choked on any attempt to pass an IPSEC VPN.
Since you never specified what model router you have, it's difficult to diagnose your problem beyond that observation.
Try a different brand or model of router and see if you get better results. Sad to say, I have found that the low-end routers work fine with completely vanilla networks, but they are very prone to annoying surprises like this when you try anything beyond what the average home user would try.

How to change ip on THOMSON TG784

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then go to LAN settings change ip as you want then save settings and resatrt router. You can also enable DHCP on it with specific ip range. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

How do I configure site to site VPN on a Netgear Router?

Well the VPN connection would have to be setup on your PC at home or where ever you are... VPN will pass-through if your router allows that... Also the VPN connection would have to be accepted by the remote server or computer that you are trying to VPN into

DELL --- Entrust/VPN - 1664

This is a known issue with Entrust, and normally happens if your communication via VPN is not using the IKE over TCP. Please select it. Also if necessary replace the ini file of Entrust, corruption of the ini file is known to cause the same error.

hope this helps if it does please rate it.

good luck

Printing with Dlink DI-624S and VPN connection

I am guessing this VPN is something work related and not a VPN you setup yourself?? If that is the case your company's VPN access will not allow you to pass from there network back to yours which is why you are unable to print to your local home printer when connected to VPN. You might could run it by your IT staff and see if they will allow connection and help you set it up. If not then simply email the docs to yourself and then print them out after you are finished using VPN connection.

Hope this Helps

VPN connection issues

check if you can enable "VPN pass-through" on your home router.
try diabling its security features (firewall) one at a time and try afterwards.

Cisco VPN Client won't connect

You'll want to enable the VPN transparency. In the router's administrative web interface, click the Security Tab, then the VPN Passthrough sub-tab. Cisco VPN's usually use IPSEC, so enable the IPSEC Pass-through and click "Save Settings". If this doesn't work enable the PPTP Pass-through as well and give that a shot.
