Our system alarm light is always on. I read the manual and it says to hit the reset button. Do you know where, on the unit, is the reset button? Thank

The technician can read the reason the red light is on, but it will light for a major or minor alarm. I've see it alarm for missing synchronization with the voice mail system, and I've also seen it shut down at synchronization time because of that.

The stock answer is "have a technician look at the system and upgrade it to the latest software".

Outside of that, not much else is happening.

The alarm light on the actual phone system is usually not a big deal. However if your system is completely shutting off once a week I would check the power. Is the system actually powering off once a week?

In the programming tool there is a place for ICD (incomming call distribution) need to make sure all phones are in you main ring group and set them all to immediate. If you do not have access to the programming tool it will be more complicated.

if you get a caller ID card installed on your system, the phone system will be able to correct it's time whenever you recieve a call... otherwise it should NOT be doing that

SOURCE: On the kx-tda50 where to I hook the building's

In a base TDA-50 there are 4 CO ports in the second 4-port row from the bottom or back of the cabinet. They count from left to right if you're looking at the system with the SD card on the right.

SOURCE: 1) The red alarm light

1> Don't worry about it. The alarm lights for synchronization errors, power outages, or any other missed items in the operation. You can clear it and it will light back up in 5 or 1400 minutes. It's just the way it is.

3. Try moving the phone directly to the cabinet or swapping phones. In a normal installation, the phones will count from bottom to top and left to right, bottom being as you look at the cabinet with the SD card reader on the right and the part toward the wall. They normally number 101-104 and then either 105-108 or 105-112 if the expansion is the 8-port card. It's more than likely it's in the wiring and not the phone, but you want to rule out a bad instrument or handset or cords.

SOURCE: All calls go straight to

The 50's red light can come on for any reason. Don't worry about that. Are your lines ringing at all or is your system in Night mode (press INFO)? Worst case, unplug the VM. What happens? The voice mail is usually programmed to answer after the local lines has rung in day mode. If this has changed, I'd look for a bad state, like night mode in day or some such error.

I just purchased a Viking PA2A ringer for my Kx-tda50 system and I'm going crazy trying to make it work. I'm not sure if I have to change the setting in the Maintenance Console so I can make the...

Do you see the two modular jacks on the PA-2A that says "ringing lines"? You need to get a ringing line to one of them. The first 4 ports of the 50 are hybrid ports. Minimally, if you take ONLY the inside pair (pins 3 and 4) to one of those ports to the PA-2A, you would have a ringing line that followed extension 101-104 if it was the only thing plugged into the port, or the XDP number assigned to the analog port in the TDA.

This ends the free help portion of this question......

1) The red alarm light is red on our TDA50. 2) One of the phones on our 7-phone system experiences a very high level of pops and crackles.

How to program co lines on a Panasonic tda50

I love open ended questions with multiple answers. The appearance of CO lines under buttons is done from the set itself and involves PROGRAM a button and dialing 0 + the line number 001-008 and STORE.

That makes the line appear. Ringing and other functions are done from System programming and is way beyond the scope of a free forum to answer.
