You have 2 problems with several possible causes:
You have 10-year-old electric water heater that was reinstalled after falling down, and doesn't heat the water.
And you have no hot or cold water pressure, and no pipes are leaking.

1) First problem is lack of water pressure throughout house.
Turn on outdoor spigot nearest to water meter.
This spigot will tell you if problem is inside the house or between the house and meter.
If spigot runs full force, then you probably have clogged pipe where water heater connects to main cold line, or the main shut off valve got clogged with sediment that broke off inside the pipe when you were working on water heater.
Open and close shut off valve to see if that helps. Then disassemble pipes and track back the problem. Put pressure gauge on water heater drain valve to watch pressure drop when turning on indoor faucet.
Read following information:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Low-hot-water-pressure.html

Water heater doesn't work:
Test across wires at top of heater to see if you are getting correct voltage:
If tank is receiving correct voltage, then no hot water puts suspicion on upper element or upper thermostat, or both.

First had no hot water, no water coming out at faucetts at all

If you had to shut the entire house off to install, your main valve may have broken off. Common problem with cheap Home Depot gate valves. Check valve and see if it turns endlessly. If so, that's the problem. To get water back on you'll need to shut off at the meter. The stem assembly screws into the valve body. Carefully take a wrench and unscrew stem assembly from body. Once removed you will need a pair of needle nose pliers to remove gate assembly which broke off. Pull out gate, make take a little effort if water is hard in your area, may have to tap a few times with small hammer on bottom of valve to free it up. After removing gate, reassemble whats left of the stem assembly. Be careful with gasket, grease on threads helps. Tighten vice and snug. Note: Whenever you are working on piping, plumbing systems, always be aware of how you tighten and loosen things up. Back up what your removing with another wrench or channel locks. You don't want to snap something off and create more problems!

Now go back inside and open hot and cold water in tub. Make sure valve is on over water heater. DON'T PLUG IN OR TURN ON ELECTRIC WATER HEATER UNTIL YOU KNOW IT'S FULL.
Turn water back on at meter. Go inside and see if water is coming out.

Id try raising the chimney until you can get the smoke from a piece of paper to get sucked up under the draft hood. I believe theres a different problem then a cold pipe.raising the chim.might not be the answer.

I have a Rheem 80 gallon electric water heater in our new house. It's been in use about 6 months. When we first moved in this past summer, at least two lengthy showers could be taken back to back and still...

To check to see if it is a bad element - turn the power off again and use a multimeter to check continuity (Ohms) in each element. It is not uncommon to have one element fail. Replacing an element is "elementary" :), if you have some mechanical aptitude. Just be sure and drain the tank to below the level of the failed element. Easier if it is the upper element of course. Again - be sure the power is OFF - check it with your meter before you begin and you may even want to lock out the breaker if there is any possibility of someone mistakenly turning it back on.

lower the output temp on the unit. the tap water could be too cold coming in. The bosche units don't like a large temperature difference between tap water and the water at your shower head. Condensation becomes a real problem. I run my water thru my basement slab to heat it up and that made all the difference, but you probably didn't buy your house with a dirt basement did you?

Hello Put a bucket under the relief valve and lift the lever up and snap it closed.Maybe it is not seated correctly. If not change it out. Also if the new one acts up you need a cold(domestic)water expansion tank(EXTROL) in the cold water pipe.

50 gallon electric heater not working after about 5 minutes in the shower the water gets cold and the rest of the house i do have 240 going to water heater thermostats goood element good

Some elements will read with a meter good until they heat up.

Hot water then going to ice cold top element is working and bottom bad. Luke warm water and then goes cold bottom element good and top element bad.

Elements and thermostats are not to exspensive to replace.

If you have power only two thing's left are the thermostat's and the elements.

I have a Rinnai tankless. The temperature fluctuates wildly

I think the dip tube in your water heater has failed, this is a plastic tube that goes in the cold side of your tank and forces incoming cold water to the bottom of the tank allowing hot water out at the top. When this tube deteiorates the incoming cold water mixes at the top of the tank causing the problem you have. the dip tube runs about 5 bucks but takes someone with pluming skills to install.
