Question about Kenmore 98702 Stacked Washer/Dryer

1 Answer

Wash tub has tilted out of position, needs to be reset.

An unbalanced load caused the tub out of it's correct operating position. It is tilted like it's being pulled by a drive belt. Obviously, it needs to be reset and secured in it's true position. I cannot determine if something needs to be replace or simply needs to be re-installed into the correct position.

I have not been able to obtain a repair manual as yet, but would appreciate any suggestions.

Hotpoint top load unbalanced

Darla heavy objects such as towels and jeans not evenly distributed in the washer will cause this to occur, open lid let washer come to a stop and then reposition clothes

If it is unbalanced as in the whole machine rocks even when not running then the rear levelers are out of position, pull top of washer towards you tilting the whole machine, towards you, the rear levelers will self adjust unless jammed, you may need help tilting the unit

Ul keeps coming up i saw solutions about popping off cap but my carbrio doesnt have a cap

Hello,

The UL means UNBALANCED LOAD
The washer tries to balance the load automatically as soon as it has detected its off balance and the tub is wobbling. IF you find that the load isnt unbalanced and it keeps coming up(try a load without any clothing) the control board would need to be replaced.
Of course though try seeing if the legs need to be adjusted to level the washer.

Good luck,i hope i have helped you to undestand what is wrong with your washer,
Gene

Unit containing motor and washing tub suddenly jump around dislodging drive belt. Is it a bareing problem or gear box.

More information on the problematic unit would really help but the jumping of the tub isn't a tub bearing problem although it can definitely lead to one. The jumping could be due to an unbalanced load, the unit itself not being properly leveled or if it is a floating tub then one or more of the support shocks may not be positioned correctly. Also if this is a new unit then make sure all shipping bolts and/or supports are removed. The bearings in the belt pulleys or the tension pulley could be bad and also make sure the belt properly installed.

Unbalanced between rinse and spin

Unplug the unit. Use a wood wedge or a non marring tool to lift the front of the top cover and tilt the cover and control back on its hinges. Be careful of the loading lid when lifting it back so it will not fall freely back making a loud noise. On the edge of the tub, there are support rods in the shape of a V with rubber shock absorbers. My guess is the rubber is deteriorated, and you need to order new ones.

Iv seen this happen where the clothes are unbalancing the tub and it moving around and the when the water for the rinse is coming out its not getting in the tub its splashing on the top of the tub ring due the the unbalanced spin. does this happen when you wash a heavy load? do you notice it not doing that when you washer a light load?

After unbalanced load the washing machine stopped

I,m not sure! After moving the tub around and trying different dialed positions the washing machine start working again, maybe a "timed" reset elapsed or maybe the transmission cool down enough to restart. Thank's everybody, a quick note the machine is a Maytag Prestige PV3240aww.

Unbalanced loads

There has been a noted problem with the Kenmore Oasis and the "Out of Balance" or "Ob" error. If this is what you are experiencing, the problem has been attributed to a couple of things. Not having sufficient amount of clothes in the wash tub during a wash cycle. That is...smaller loads cause a problem when the washer tries to distribute he weight evenly in the spin cycle. Not enough clothes, no balanced weight, you get an Out of Balance indication. The other problem (which tends to be the more common issue) is the control board under the operator console. The manufacturers developed a new software to run on the new and improved control boards that is supposed to correct this problem. Double check your load distribution first (which it seems you already have), then check with the manufacturer to see if there may be a recall on your washer that corrects this problem at no cost to the consumer. I hope this helps you some.
