Older sony television speaker volume only 1/2 what it used to be

The speaker volume on t.v. shows it is at max. volume ...but it is not. however, '' static'' came through very loud when it was switched from channel 3 to a'' regular'' station. (I use ch.3 to work with my digital converter box) any ideas ??? thank you.

First check the cables if there's a loss or open wire,if the problem still occured, either way if the audio section of the digital converter having a problem or the television at the audio section may have a deffecttive parts (capacitor, resisitor, or the power I.C.) try to lower the volume, if still no work, then follwed this steps

Check the speaker/s first. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. Cant get subwoofer to work on my sony amp. speaker works on other ports. ive turned on subwoofer port and up the level to max but no sound nothing.

Never use maximum volume for troubleshooting. The errant switch or control that you eventually find and change will suddenly release the amp's full power and you'll destroy your speakers. If a signal isn't audible at 1/2 volume it's probably not there.

A specific model of both would help in the diagnosis. Most modern AVR

When i connect my netbook on the front of the receiver i have sound from the tv speakers but seems as the power is not enough for loudenss ( i bearly hear them). My netbook has only headphone out. how can...

Check your netbook's volume settings and see if they are at the max. If the head phone Jack is standard 3.5 mm then you can connect it to external speakers and see if it resolves the issue. If they are and still you can't get a decent volume, then you will need to get an amplifier to increase the sound input so that you can get proper volume on your tv.

Exact same problem; low volume

1st check your PC if audio is fine with headphones or some other speakers , then check your control panel and test sounds compatibility might that you are using wrong speaker setting in the PC.
The below is the company web link to your speaker set , try this too

Speaker error

Try checking the volume on your subwoofer i had the same problem. I unplugged the system and had the same error message pop up. So i checked the volume on the subwoofer, and it was set to max, i set it to normal and i haven't had any problems since

There are 2 ways to check your volume

1...On the remote there is a button labeled "BASS" press it, and on the display it will tell you a number between -3 and +3, If no number appears then it should say either "MIN" or "MAX" if it's at max use the volume control on the remote to turn it down to "0"

2...On the remote press "SET UP"
.....Select the Volume icon by using the arrow keys, press "ok" or "enter" to access that icon
.....Select "Speaker Setup" using the arrow keys and enter button
.....Select Speaker Volume by pressing enter
.....scroll down to "SUBWOOFER" and make sure the volume is no higher than +4dB
....Once done press "SET UP" on the remote to exit the setup screen

*Note* - The speaker volume option can only be chosen when nothing is playing on the player, or the disc tray is empty, You also have to be in either, Ipod mode or DVD mode to access this menu.

Hope this solves your problem, and i apologize on the delay of this solution ^_^

Audio problems

Good Day, corilyn;
Several things that you may try:
1. Unplug TV and Cable/Sat box for 3-4 minutes, plug all back in, that's resetting the devices.
2. Some boxes have volume controls, make sure 'box' volume are turned to max.
3. Go into TV's customer menu, go to audio section, make sure speakers are turned on/ set to internal speakers.

Good Luck, Big Irish.

Loudness Equalization : on

Equalizer: Choose one (Jazz seems to be loudest setting but sounds of hallway effect so I use powerful for clarity.)

This has more than doubled the level of volume on my acer 5570.
