There could be some burned wire's touching which causes a live stream thru the system. Trace starts from the fuse box

You need to perform a parasitic amp draw test. Make sure your doors are closed and all interior lights, etc are turned off. Using a multimeter first disconnect the negative terminal and place one probe on negative battery terminal and one on the negative terminal you removed. This will tell you if there is something pulling power off the battery while the car is sitting. To find the source of any amp draws on your system(aka parasites) pull one fuse at a time and see how much the draw changes. Look at aftermarket radios and alarms they almost always have a small amount of current draw. This should help you narrow down the component causing your issue. Once you have identified the source post the information so we can help you further.

I have a 1990 tw 200 yamaha turn signals in front are lit but dont flash the back dont light up or flash

Check the grounds on your 22 year old bike. The flasher works because of heat building up in a bi-metal strip in the flasher. It gets hot, breaks connection; it cools, makes connection, repeat. If the rear lights are NOT coming on, you are not drawing enough power to heat the bi-metal strip thus it is not heating or cooling, making and breaking connection, not flashing. Check ALL ground connections from your rear signal lamp back to the negative terminal on the battery. Dont miss one connection - lamp to lamp holder, lamp holder to fixture housing, housing to fender, fender to frame, frame to battery (minus side) and so forth. Corrosion is not your friend here - if you find it - clean it. I believe you will find that if you put a wire from the housing to the battery negative terminal, your light will come on. If it doesn't, check the hot side of the circuit.

Oh, by the way, your battery is in tip top condition, right?

Take a test light and disconnect you negative lead on your battery. Put one end of the test light on the battery negative and the other end on the negative terminal. If you have a light on the test light then you have a draw. Leave the key off, shut all doors and disconnect your hood light.
Start pulling fuses until the light goes out that will tell you what circuit your draw is on. As for the fan, sounds like someone hard wired the fan to power. Needs to be fixed to OEM

Electric problems

Could be a light not cutting off. Check for a dome light, glove box light, trunk light. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery and barely touch it back to the post. A small spark could indicate something that is drawing power. Do this in the dark.

99 subaru forester. No power at all. When I wiggle negative battery cable : power comes back and alarm is triggered. But power fails again if I turn key or touch brake pedal. How do i fix this?

Bad battery (have the battery tested) Bad connection, corrosion on the terminal and in the cable, replace the cable, recharge the battery to full charge.

2001 dodge ram 1500 , 5.9 , 2wd....batt. keeps going dead if not started every 8hrs or so....also the dome lights quit working about the same time this problem began....i chkd batt, alt. & grounds, all...

Since alot of people don't have all kinds of special tools, This is a way you can narrow it down and then go from there. Make sure all lights and power is turned off in the vehicle including the light under the hood if there is one.. disconnect the negative battery cable off the battery. take a test light and connect the aligator clip part of the test light to the part of the cable that connects to the battery. Then take the "pointy" part of the test light and touch it to the negative battery terminal. if it lights up, that means you have a draw. the brighter the light the bigger the draw is. Now keep in mind that if you have a clock or delayed interior lights it will show a draw. If you do have a pretty bright light and want to see the area that the draw is coming from begin by taking one fuse out at a time. If the light goes out or at least dims down alot, then you now know which circuit the draw is coming from. Now from there once you find which fuse it is then comes the task of finding out what that fuse covers and you can work on it from there. At this point you will have an idea of the area that is pulling power from your battery and may need to get a wiring diagram to locate where the draw is coming from. Worst case would be to pull that fuse out everytime you stop the car so it doesn't drain the battery while sitting until you can make the repair. I hope you were able to understand as sometimes I have a hard time explaining things. I hope this helps you narrow down your problem and good luck.

Car seems to be charging ok but some thing

Check for consumers staying on such as interior lights , radio etc.. To check for current draw, you need an AMP meter. remove the negative battery terminal. Connect one amp meter lead to the battery negative terminal and the other to the earth cable. Hold the cable against the battery negative cable, close all doors and press bonnet switch to closed position. Activate the alarm and wait for it to arm. Once it has armed itself, separate the earth cable from the battery terminal keeping the amp meter connected. read the current draw. Should be less then 100 milli amps. Usually +- 40ma. To check which circuit has current draw remove one fuse at a time and check if current draw drops. A drop in current draw will indicate that the problem is on that fuses circuit. Also check alternator charge rate. To check this hold a volt meter across the battery terminals. with engine off, should get battery voltage. Start the vehicle, battery voltage should rise to 13 -14v and maintain this voltage with the headlights on. The battery itself could be faulty, you would need to do a load test on the battery. Load tester needed to do this.

Battery drained last week and radio power clicked on and off at a slow rate for about a day, even though car started fine. Suspect water caused the radio to draw current? How to fix this 2000...

You can always verify if it is your radio that is drawing the current of your battery down or at least you can narrow it down to which circuit it is. Remove the negative battery terminal and connect the negative side of a test light to the negative cable. Then place the positive side of the test light on the negative battery terminal. If you have a current draw the test light will light up. Now just start pulling fuses one at a time until the light goes out. Then you know which circuit is the culprit.

Dead Battery

Make sure your cables positive and negative are in good shape. If they are, remove the negative cable and use a test light to jump across the neg. terminal to the cable. If there is a power draw, the test light will illuminate. At this point, remove the fuses one at a time until the test light turns off. What ever that particular fuse goes to is the circuit with the power draw. Hope this helps.
