Question about Mitsubishi XL6600U New

Have a mitsubishi XL6600u projector and the projector immediately powers down

After pressing the power button, the projector warms up and the lamp strikes. the main screen image appears shortly after. The power indicator turns red, the status indicator blinks green, and the lamp turns off.

...replace the lamp. The lamp is most likely WAYYYYY past its prime so I suggest starting there. Sometimes even if you had just replaced the lamp the new lamp could've blown. When there is no signal running through the lamp circuit there is no signal to the display sensor, which means no image.

Could be one of two problems. How old is the machine? If one of your LCD filters inside the machine has burned up it will show yellow. Common on SL4U. It starts with a yellow circle. If not that then most likely a bad VGA cable. If you have it hooked up that way.

press the MENU button to display the menu screen, and then press the UP and DOWN aero button to select the "OPTION" menu. press the ENTER button and then press the UP and DOWN aero button to select "LAMP RUNTIME". Press and hold the ENTER button for approximately 3 seconds.
The "LAMP RUNTIME" screen will be displayed.
(NOTE: press any button other then the POWER button to cancel the "LAMP RUNTIME" screen)
Press the POWER button to turn off the power.
The POWER button on the projector illuminates red.
This will reset the cumulative usage time for the lamp unit to "0"

Reset the LAMP COUNTER HOURS:

1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.
2. Press and hold down the three buttons at a time (ON/STANDBY) (MENU) and (INPUT) and plug in power cord.
3.The lamp hours counter will automatically turn to zero
4. Now you press POWER BUTTON and after warm up you check lamp operation counter in the STATUS display it should be "0"

This should work:

How to reset the operation time meter
Plug in the power cord, switch on the projector, and
reset lamp time by pressing the (left and right arrow) and POWER buttons on the control panel simultaneously.
Important:
• If the 3 buttons was not pressed at the same time,
the lamp time may not be reset.
• Please confirm the TEMP indicator illuminates
about 2 seconds and the lamp time has been
reset.
• The projector will not turn on if you do not secure
the lamp lid.
• You must reset the operation time meter after you
replace the lamp.
• Do not reset the operation time meter unless the
lamp has been replaced.
