On the power supply board, reflow the solder connections on the 24 volt section. If that does not remedy it, check the active devices on the inverter board that connects to the 24 volt buss. Also check those capacitors.

It may also be a situation if the set has several thousand hours, the CCFL tubes may need replacement.

I have my computer hooked up to my proscan 26LB30Q. The power will come on, but it only stays on for about 30 seconds. What do should I do to make it stay powered on?

How are you interfacing your computer to the tv? HDMI? RGB video cable?? Some tv's especially Vizio's will automatically turn off if it doesn't sense a video signal on the RGB input after about 30 seconds. Make sure your computer is putting out a video signal.

I have a 32inch alba tv thats 9 months old, sometimes when i try to turn it on the led light at the front of the tv flashes blue and orange constant and will not turn on i then un plug it leave it a while...

Hi,

the issue you describe is consistent with a power supply board issue. This is the board where the AC goes to. This problem may have occurred as a result of irregular power supply, or excess power supply or power surge........

The TV is receiving current but cannot circulate or transfer the current to other necessary part of the TV because of the defective power supply board. You might be lucky it's just a blow fuse. Also a defective transformer can cause your TV not to power on.

All these can be checked on the power supply board.

But more often bad capacitors causes problem on the power supply board. I do not think the power board needs replacement, rather those defective capacitors is causing this issue. Open unit up and take a look at the power supply board. You will probably see one or more electrolytic filter capacitors that are bulged up in the top-not perfectly flat like the others.

The value of these capacitors will be different, most likely they will be somewhere around-820 to 2200uF/25 V( or /10V sometimes).

You can replace them with same values but I would recommend the voltage rating to be higher(like 35V for an original 25V) for reliability purposes.

What happens is,these bulged top capacitors will cause a low and unfiltered DC voltage=main board will malfunction(the relay will keep clicking until the caps are holding enough charge to bring the voltage up over a threshold point).

You can buy these capacitors at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can order them online at vendors like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for electrolytic capacitors). After replacing these capacitor(capacitors) most likely the normal operation will be restored. Or you can by a refurbished complete power board to save you some stress.......

Note: There may be also some other causes for this symptom ,like a defective T con board ,or main board, but the bulged top capacitors are the most common cause for this issue.
If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you. Also, note that TV stores a lot of current, so wait a while before opening the TV back cover.

Yours sincerely.

50hm66 Lamp LED flashing 3 times and stop then Lamp LED flashing, No power, Got a new lamp and same problem. Can anybody help me?

Sounds like you may have some faulty capacitors. Its a pretty common problem.

Here is the likely problem.

The Power Supply Board. I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. Lcd TV. One day it just started turning itself off. Then it wouldn't turn on at all. I opened it up (warranty was expired of course)
and found several bad(bulged or leaking) capacitors on my PSB. Many major electronic manufacturers were sold capacitors that were highly rated but lacked preservative that caused them to fail after 2-5 years instead of 10-20. It wouldn't surprise me if your tv has some too.

Solutions
1. Take it in and have it repaired.
2. Check the PSB for faulty caps then buy a new PSB and install it.
3. Remove PSB, Remove and replace capacitors. This option will require some soldering skills.

Hope this helps. Good Luck

My union color television is dead only power red light is on.

Hello,
Swollen, Bulged, Bad Capacitor The main cause of this power up problem are bad capacitors on your power if the capacitor is bad
What you need for the opening of the television is Screw driver, Soldering iron(40watts+), Desoldering braid, Soldering wire, and capacitors.
Now lets talk about the specs, capacitors hold 3 important value:
1. The capacitance measured in uF(micro farads) (ex. 2200uF), 2. Voltage (ex. 10v), 3. Temperature (ex. 105°C)
Important Notes:
Flat panel Television power supply capacitors has 10v installed on the board and it is attached to a 12v bus which is causing to bulged.

Look at the bad capacitor and get the right information from it, remember uF, voltage and temperature. Mine, I only change 2 capacitors. It needed two 2200 uF, when I first saw my power supply it was really easy to spot the bad caps. Some Samsung LCD owners did went ahead replace all the capacitors on the power supply to make sure. Now if you’re like me, an inexperience solder, I would not recommend changing all the capacitors because to me it was time consuming for a noob(newbie) like me ^_^.

Few things to take note, always make sure you have the right polarity. Negative part is where the colored stripe on the capacitor.
But if otherwise, the power supply board is bad, you can try websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
Hope this helpout...

The Vizio VP322 is notorious for having bad capacitors on the power supply circuit board. They will probably be bulging and may have electrolyte leaking. I replaced four bad capacitors (with a different brand just in case) and fixed it. Total cost under $10. A lot cheaper and better than replacing the whole circuit board which may contain the same "faulty" capacitors from the factory.

Hdtv-dlp has no sound or picture

this sounds like a dmd board problem. these are digital modules attached to the light engines usually. samsung, rca, hitachi, have shown similiar symptoms. some units have capacitors on the boards that can be replaced, but these are dual-layer pcb's that are tough to unsolder without proper soldering iron temperature and good small gauge solder-wick. or solder pump tool. the electolytic caps. are usually 1000uf / 10v, 330uf / 10v, or 470uf / 10v. alot of the time the capacitors will "vent" or swell-up on top which helps spot faulty component. we always increase voltage rating to 16v-25v for more reliable operation. always use 105 degrees high- temperature replacement caps.

ILO LCT32HA36 will not power on

same thing happened to my ilo. There are four capacitors that are bad on the power board. You can usually tell its bad because at the top it bulges out. Here is what you need to do. Unplug the tv, open up your ilo find the power board ( the power cord plugs into it). Then find the capacitors that are bad (they are the around things usually in blue color) and remove them by soldering the other side. On mine there where three 1000uf 16v and one 470uf 35v. Those are the ones that need replacing. I replaced them with a higher voltage rating 1000uf 35v and 470uf 50v. All you need to do is solder them back on but make sure you solder them back the right way (plus goes to plus on the board or you will be in trouble). I found the capacitors at radio shack for about 1.50 a peice. If you dont know how to solder look it up on youtube. If that does not work there might be couple more bad capacitors that need replaceing just need to find them and you can tell by a small bulging top.
