The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: power turns on and off by its self

The problem is the key board controller is malfunctioning. I have contacted a multitude of supply houses even
RCA included and I have not been able to buy the part. However, you can bypass the problem by disabling the key board functions by activating the parental control item, not the password, by using the remote. All the keys on the front panel will be disabled but you can still operate the tv with the remote plus save yourself a cost on parts and labor.

SOURCE: OLDER MODEL RCA HOME THEATER PICTURE AND PICTURE

Hi Unykue,

I am an electronics technician who just happened have been given the same set as you because it was giving the previous owner the same problem. Since I am confident in my trade, I took the set and diagnosed noise in the remote receivers input to the cpu.

What this means is that a capacitor( or something) wasn't working properly and was either not filtering the noise out or it was introducing noise into the data stream that controls the TV through your remote control.

My fix was to essentially cut out the entire remote control input to the TV. Since I have a directtv box to give me remote control, I don't care if the TV's remote works anyway.

The way I did this was to open up the unit and find the front I/O board were the buttons meet the switches for power, chaennel, volume, etc. On that board there is a plug with white wires and one black wire. The two wires to cut are the one next to the black wire and the one all the way at the other end of the black wire. These two wires are easy to splice back if you do not like the results of this procedure so that there is really no risk of damaging your set. If you wish to verify the proper wires to cut, they are the two wires that come from the IR receiver's side of the board YET DO NOT GO TO THE OTHER SIDE WITH THE BUTTONS! There is one wire that does indeed go to both sides.

This may not be a perfect solution but it is free. I hope that this will help someone out there.

SOURCE: i was watching tv when suddenly the volume control

The front panel Tactile Switches probably need to be replaced. The part # of the switches is 23344507. You can order them through Encompass Elect. 800-638-3328.
Hope this helps,

Bose system is just over 1 yr old, hooked up to Smart Tv ( same age) sound was working fine, turned volume down, no sound at all after that

Hi, You have a Bose Home Theater System hooked up to your television and I'm wondering if you're controlling the volume through the Bose Home Theater System or the television because both have a volume control and if you have the television volume turned down and you're using the Bose Home Theater System for volume or visa-versa then you're not going to get a decent sound. I hope you know what I mean...... CHEERS..

WE HAVE A RCA HTS 5000 THAT WE CAN NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO ADJUST SO THE VOLUME IS NOT ALWAYS SO LOUD BUT THAT CHANGES WHEN THE MOVIE OR SOUND CHANGES

Need more info. Are you using the volume control on the unit as your main control or the volume on the TV? I have a setup in which my sound is routed through a 5.1 Teac amp. The sound level on the amp os set and not changed. The volume control on the TV dictates the amount of sound. If the amp volume is set too high, then this will be amplified even more through the TV's sound input (the red and wite RCA cables).

If this is the case, turn down one of the folumes (the one that remains unchanged) and see what happens.

Speakers way too loud

You don't say how the Samsung routes out to the receiver. I assume you're using its RCA audio L and R jacks. Inability to adequately lower volume usually means you're NOT using a Line Level input, but maybe a speaker feed.

Your TV may have a setting for variable audio out, but even if you use the fixed setting you should be able to lower the playback volume to something comfortable with the receiver's volume knob. It does go down to completely OFF, right?

I have an older RCA home theater proformer amp has a model # of PA4500 I cannot get any remote to program to use it, it has no volume dials and you cannot control the volume without a remote and we have...

The PA-4500-M does not have a wireless remote control. The amp turns on when there is an audio signal present at one of the inputs. The power button on the front is the master power, when the amp is ready the front LED will continuously glow RED, when the audio signal is sensed, the LED will glow GREEN. The audio signals must be variable otherwise you cannot control the volume.

RCA LCD Flat Panel HDTV and RCA Home Theater System--No sound

Video comes from external device to TV - OUT on device and IN on TV.

Sound connects by the red/white cable set (or HDMI). Place set in Audio OUT ports on TV and Audio IN ports on DVD. Then select AUX IN on DVD.

When i unplug my rca rt2250 home theater system. the green light comes on on the right side. then goes off. everything works good after that speakers sound good. but once in a while that green light comes...

this is the amp IC and while unplugging and plugging it in again helps reset the IC for a little while , it will eventually completely quit and will need replaced
make sure that none of the speaker wires(bare wires) are touching or look like they might be where they are connected at
also if turning up the volume makes it cut out or sound bad then this will also indicate a bad amp IC
