Question about Ryobi 18volt 12" Cordless Drill Model P206

Open Question

My Ryobi SA1802 drill is sparking and smoking, what's the deal?

It started shooting sparks and smoking, I let it sit and now everytime I use it , the same thing happens. Is it broken? Or am I doing something wrong?

SOURCE: Ryobi impact drill compatibility with normal drill bits

Round bits are not compatible with the Ryobi impact drivers. You need the hex shank "quick connect" bits and accessories. There is an adapter available. it is basically a regular style of keyless drill chuck with the quick connect hex shank that should fit right in to your Impact.

Can not get my Ryobi gas trimmer to start. It is fairly new and have never had a problem. It is getting gas and I've changed the spark plug but still can't get it to start.

There are 2 stroke and 4 stroke Ryobi's. The most common non-spark problem is the coil. (at least for me) Is it getting spark???

It might have tipped over on its side. Look at the air filter, if you see oil or gas on the filter then you might have to remove and clean the carburetor. I would start by cleaning/replacing the air filter and trying it again. If its getting fuel and the spark plug works then the only other side of the fire triangle is air.

When using my panasonic 12v ey6409 drill there are sparks and smoke coming out at the rear, should I be concerned.

the tool with the brake will throw some sparks when it creates the short to stop rotation, but the SMOKE is an indication of a burnt motor and yes you should be concerned. Do you smell a burning odor when running if so the motor will soon fail.

Ryobi 775r won't start. I replaced the spark plug but still no go. I have never replaced the fuel line didn't know that was necessary

make sure you have fresh gas miture first, then put spark plug on housing as you pull it over (with the switch on) watch for spark if its there then its a gas problem. old stinky gas is usually what happens when it sits for months. carb may need to be rebuilt if it still won't start. also check exhaust screen to make sure its not plugged.
