What model do you have and when does it leak? During draining? Washing?

It's a new one we just hooked up . Haven't even run a cycle. It leaks when we turn the sink on, it's like it's back feeding from the garbage disposal and running through the drain line and leaking underneath the dishwasher where the drain line hooks to a housing

It could be water running down the dishwasher drain hose and leaking from the pump or drain valve of your dishwasher. Run your dishwasher and check for leaks as it cycles. That way you can spot the leak. Also your drain hose runs to your sink drain usually via the garbage disposal. You need to make an arch in the drain hose higher than the point where it drains into the sink. This keeps sink water out of your dishwasher thats called a drain riser. Try this tip first and go from there. Keep us posted.

Why kenmore elite dishwasher will not drain?

If it is connected to a disposal remove the drain hose and check for a restricted area in the hose or disposal this is common also check the drain hose for kinks be sure to elevate the hose before the drain area. If the drain hose is clear and the drain is clear then you could have a bad drain pump in the dishwasher. Most problems are a restricted drain or hose

Kenmore elite dishwasher is leaking water from diverter

I think you are talking about the air gap on the sink. If so, the drain line to the disposal or drain is plugged or pinched .clean it out and problem solved.

Kenmore elite dishwasher leaking below washer

see this causes and use the common sense. God bless you
Dishwasher Not Leveled

This is a very common reason for a leaking dishwasher especially if this was a new installation. The framing in a dishwasher is made up of mostly thin sheet metal, so if it is not sitting flat and level things can get distorted very easily. Watch the video on leveling your dishwasher.

Door Seal

This is not very common in most dishwashers. To check this look for rips and distortion of the seal. If it is ripped or distorted you will need to replace.

Dispenser Seal

This is a more common place for a leak to develop. This is easy to check, remove the front panel and carefully inspect around the seal for water dripping or stainage. If any is found replace the dispenser gasket.

Water Inlet Valve

Usually it is the connection to the water inlet valve that ends up leaking. Check this connection ( there is usually some sort of adaptor between the valve and supply hose) for leaks. Check the connection on the back of the water inlet valve also. Ocassionaly a water inlet valve will leak around the solenoid in this case replace the water inlet valve.

Drain / Circulating Pump

Some dishwashers have separate drain and circulating pumps. Some use one pump to serve both purposes. In either case you will need to check the housings for leaks along with all the connections. Some dishwashers have a seal that leaks down into the pump . This is easy and inexpensive to replace. Follow the tutorial on replacing the pump.

Door Latch

The door latch can become loose or misalinged. Check both the striker and the latch. To adjust the latch you will need to remove the front panel and adjust switch until properly aligned.

Door Hinges

They can cause problems, but this usually only happens from opening a heavy load of dishes on the door. Occassionaly a broken spring or cable occurs. You will need to remove the toe kick and maybe the front panel to inspect.

Periodic water leaking from Kenmore Elite K701

hello Adrian. I am suspicious that the standing drain pipe behind your machine may sometimes over flow. To find out, pack some dry newspaper around the drain hose where it enters the drain line behind the machine. If that newspaper gets wet you will know that the drain is sometimes overflowing. If that is the case, snake that drain or force a garden hose down it and run hot water thru it for ten minutes. J.

Won't drain water out?

Regardless of the brand, all dishwashers operate on the same principles.. in this case you said you checked for clogs and there are none..however.. have you checked the fileter screen for the drain, the hoses to the pump, the pump itself, the exit hose off the pump, the drain hose coming from the dishawasher to your house drain and is your house drain restricting water flow? Also.. is the pump actually operating at any time? These are the funadamental items to check..any one of them can cause your dishawasher to not drain properly. Hope this helps..
